Slayer Variants?

I assume Team Slayer will be accompanied by VIP, Headhunter, and other ‘kill to score’ type ideas? I dunno, people may still regard them as objective game modes when we really are fine with straight up Team Deathmatch. 343 may be overthinking this.

Although the idea of grouping modes involving kill-to-score is intriguing. And I assume Team Slayer will be removed from quickplay, increasing chance of getting a mode pertaining to a challenge. Alright. This is starting to look like a Halo feature set.

Oh and Sketch; yeah, it was totally “flipping a switch”. Maybe a few.

We’ll who knows there maybe a new variant that’s in the works but for now I think folks are gonna like having more then 3 choices for playlists

something tells me those slayer variants are gonna be horrible, all people asked for is straight up slayer, nothing else but we’ll see when they do come out

There are 3 pages of gametypes Most of them are slayer. I saw some of them on Youtube. Don’t know why 343i won’t let us access them.

Probably tied to future events.

VIP and headhunter arent slayer variants. SWAT, FFA, Team BRs, Covenant Slayer, Team Snipers, Team Swords, Team Hammers, Team Splockets, Team Duals, Rock. n Rails, etc are all slayer variants

I would argue any mode where scoring is contingent on kills rather than holding or delivering something or being some place - is a Slayer variant.

Halo 3 and Halo Reach never categorized them that way. You cant go into Slayer and edit it to be like VIP or Stockpile. For example Rocket Race was a variant of VIP in Halo 3. Crazy King and Moshpit are King of the Hill variants. Brains and Save One Bullet are Infection variants, etc. Thats usually what people mean when they say variants.

Past custom options don’t change the fact that these are kill score gametypes.

Really VIP is closer to oddball if both teams had a ball. Stockpile is basically Neutral Flag with 5 flags on the map instead of 1. If they add a non Slayer gametype to the Slayer playlist then Headhunter would make the most sense

Edit: Another good mode would be Elimination from Halo 5 where you had to get all 4 players on the enemy team dead at the same time to win a round

Yes it is.

But there’s no ball. The scoring is based on kills. Slaying.
