Slayer Playlist

Since we now have a Team Objective playlist, why not have a Slayer playlist? After all, that would mean more populated playlists, right?

So, why don’t we put Team Snipers, SWAT, and Slayer Pro into one big playlist? They’re all Slayer-oriented gametypes.

I know that Team Snipers and SWAT had their own playlists in Halo 3 and Reach, but this is Halo 4 so it’s time to make a change.

I disagree with this. Snipers, and Swat are very different kinds of slayer.

I would however would like to see a Social playlist put in with bunch of just for fun games like Infinity Slayer, Rockets, Shotty’s, etc… It would also be nice if we got a real Team Throwdown kind of slayer have its own playlist.

Ignore him, I can smell the troll in this post, just look at the last sentence for example.

How is my proposal any different from what’s happened with the Team Objective playlist? Oddball, KOTH, and Team Regicide are hardly similar to each other besides the fact that their score is based on something other than kills. So now they’re all clumped together in one playlist.

Now we’ve got SWAT, Team Snipers, and Slayer Pro. Sure, some people might see Team Throwback as a newly revised Slayer Pro, but those two gametypes are different enough to warrant Slayer Pro’s return.

So, SWAT, Team Snipers, and Slayer Pro all have two big things in common: No radar, and kill to win. And yet no one is complaining about how these playlists are clogging up space where other playlists could be added instead?

As of right now, there are far more playlists dedicated strictly towards slayer-based games than objective. It doesn’t seem fair that people you enjoy objective-based games have to saddle all up into one playlist while people who enjoy slayer-based games get to play whatever they want without having to pray for a certain variant to be voted on.

This is only my opinion, but:

Team Snipers and Slayer Pro are fairly similar. This could work.

SWAT plays completely different than the others, it is more tactical.

I can make the same comparison for Team Objective.

Oddball and Regicide both involve gaining and protecting a moving objective.

KoTH revolves around holding a static position.

KoTH, Race and Territories being paired together would make sense. They all involve moving to and holding a piece of the map. But it doesn’t really fit with Oddball and Regicide, which are more dynamic.

I can make yet another comparison. CTF and Assault being paired together would make sense because they both involve moving an object somewhere else, mainly to or from established bases. But CTF doesn’t have anything in common with Regicide or Slayer.

Similar gametypes can be paired together, but contrasting ones should remain separate.

Therefore, this is how I would organize playlists.

Slayer
Infinity, Throwdown, Pro

Big Team Battle
All gametypes, this would be the exception to the rule since we can’t have a ton of different BTB playlists.

Heavies
Rockets, Swords, Shotguns, Snipers

Turf
Dominion, KoTH, Territories, Extraction

Invasion
CTF, Assault, 1 flag, 1 bomb, Invasion

Control
Oddball, Juggernaut, Regicide, VIP

SWAT

Infection

Hell no! SWAT is my favourite playlist and I want to be able to play SWAT all the time if I want. And also, I only play Snipers when I just want to… you know, snipe. Wouldn’t mind having a “Slayer” playlist with different game modes though. It could include Infinity Slayer, Slayer (loadouts but no ordnance) and some kind of Slayer Pro (preset loadouts).
