Slayer isn't even fun/reset ranking is ruining it.

For all the old folks who play, all we know before WZ arrived was slayer, objective, basically just killing folks for points. When Halo 5 came out that’s all I did because it’s what I know, and requires more challenging gameplay imo, but this ranking system has completely screwed up everything I love about Halo. I absolutely hated wz when I first tried, and I am finding myself only doing that. I play a game of slayer at platinum 3 and go any further because there are so many people who wait till near the end of the season to jump their rank.

I checked some of these players that obliterate me and see them in champion from the march season. Why isn’t everyone outraged by the ranking system. I get it we will extend it? There is no point for that either, because it will just lessen the butt pounding. Do away with the friggin thing. I can’t get better unless I know how difficult an enemy is.

If i know I am in gold I play a certain way, same goes all the way up to diamond and I did even better in Diamond last season. Take away this stupid rank reset system, so arena will be fun again.

That is my rant for the day, thanks for reading.

Its fun for me

I don’t have any complaints about the matchmaking system. I think it works very well. Most of my matches are very close.

I don’t have the ability to play with a bunch of people so I always go in solo, but even if I find a really good group that works well together we always get this crazy-good group of people that are listed as unranked, yet are SR 150 and 2.4 k/d. I am far from a novice at slayer, but far from the best. Usually takes me the first 5-10 kills to figure out their skill level. Can anyone explain why they like the rank resets? I wouldn’t mind having a valid debate on why it sucks vs why it’s good.

Increase the REQ rewards, and I’d gladly play it more. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t care for arena in this game, I just play at the beginning of the month to get my season emblem.

That’s the problem, the fun is gone. They should be increased, but for those who prefer arena over wz. It should be accurate when grouping up.

you’re ranking in slayer means what? Seriously, unless you are literally getting paid to play Halo, you should stop caring about your CSR and just have fun.

All my matches are close. I like the reset system because I like to check my progress per season and it gives me a chance to qualify in a higher bracket

Misleading title there. I came in here to agree with you and question why it is the most popular Arena gametype but it turns out you like Slayer and are just upset with the ranking system, specifically ranks resetting.

I can change the title. I know how annoying that is. It used to be the most popular game type. I have a new appreciation for Wz because I am so annoyed with Arena.

DBD ChefDog: To some it may not mean a whole lot, but to a lot of people rank is everything. Personal achievement. Competition is fun, but when the competition turns into a crapshoot it sucks. It’s like when your pushing for that next rank, and you actually get it. It’s a pretty dope feeling. HearTheCroup: I have not had the same luck, if I play 20 slayer games a day, 17 out of 20 are close matches. How can you get better when the skill level changes every game?

I get placed in Platinum every season and have to work my way back up to Onyx. Not my fault the game puts me at Platinum every season.
A week after reset Platinum is loaded with a lot of good players who i think are trying to rank back up as well.

By the end of the season we shouldn’t be seeing gold and platinum at that level, when in previous seasons they are in Champ.

I have absolutely no problems with the ranking system. The regular resets provide the system the ability to quickly move people up and down based on skill earned from the previous season. I treasure the chance to play against Champion-level players. That means the game believes that I stand a chance and wants to see how I will do overall.

its inaccurate is my experience with it. I just play 10 games of swat and call it at that. I’ve gotten my onyx a few times and im happy with that.

A cursory glance of your recent Arena games shows a good mix of Plat and Gold with the occasional Diamond, and matching is in your favor as often as it is against it. You have a K/D near 1.0 and a win percentage near 50%, which sounds like matchmaking is doing its job. You can’t compare rankings across seasons as they’ve changed the ranking algorithms, and I’m not even convinced they reset the matching criteria each season.

If you play Warzone more because you find yourself enjoying it more, is that really a criticism of the game? Such a weird point to make.

Same here. 10 matches a month. Speaking of which, I still have to do that this month, thanks for reminder!

And since I get all achievements in each Halo game, I make sure the playlist changes. Last month, I did my first (and last) ten games of breakout, for example. Easy achievement and season emblem.

Back to MCC MM, achievement hunting, H5 BTB at that point (can’t stand WZ as a solo player).

i dont know if someone who was Onyx or champ the previous season can place Gold even if they lose every placement game.

They just have to wait, or they can do all the other playlists, and then do slayer last.

It doesn’t bother you that you had no chance. These people play as a team so well; you spawn and bam BR to the face. I don’t have that kinda time, so if the ranking system was true and didn’t reset everyone would be in their respective classes.
