Slayer is removed from Halo 4 Gametypes?

If you go to gametypes in halo 4 it is updated, and the standard slayer experience is removed.

The Slayer description was this: “The standard Slayer experience of past Halo titles, now with a variety of new features that span across the entire War Games experience. These features include a scoring system which separates both individual and team performance and a dynamic ordnance drop system, among several other exciting things yet to be revealed.”

Why is this? It is only fishy to me. I hope it’s not replaced by Infinity slayer.

Pretty sure the standard slayer experience will be in the classic playlist. There is no reason for classic slayer to be its own playlist among the new evolved game modes.

Anything that deals with gametypes that mimic halo 1 2 or 3 will be in the classic side not the main hopper :stuck_out_tongue:

where Im looking forward to trying something new i do not want to ahv eto play infinity slayer as my main game type :frowning: classic halo slayer picking up weapons is fine for me

I’m sure the normal Slayer gametype is still there.

Well according to that link, CTF and Dominion don’t exist either.

Give them time to update a full list.

I’m pretty sure there will be a classic slayer playlist.

The thing I would like to know is how Objective will be handled. Will Flagnum and/or Dominion be it’s own playlist, or will they be in Objective? And in what gametypes will Personal Ordnance be present?

I don’t remember them describing their standard slayer experience as Classic. I’m pretty sure the Slayer the had everything else except Personal Ordnance drops. At least that’s how it was back then. I think insta spawns were exclusive to Infinity slayer. It would’ve included sprint, AAs, and the mods.

While classic would’ve axed sprint, AAs, mods, insta spawns, and personal Ordnance. I saw the slayer experience being a bit different from Classic. I don’t know if classic will include loadouts either.

By all means I am patient and aware that those aren’t up either. The problem is not concerning those other gametypes, as I understand they just aren’t updated. The problem is that they deleted the standard slayer experience. If you are telling me to wait for a full list, then why didn’t they just remove all the gametypes to finalize a list? Instead, slayer was the only thing removed. Ps, I’m not angered by this, just curious.

Well seeing is how Frankie said they will have focused playlists for awhile it would be redundant to have two playlists that are exactly the same accept one has personal ordnance and one doesnt. Its pretty safe to assume we wont see a Inf Slayer and Standard slayer AND classic slayer all at the same time.

That is the problem reach had Team Slayer Super Slayer Classic Slayer etc etc.
IF there is a Standard minus ordnance drop alternative to inf slayer it wont be in the launch hopper based on what Frankie’s definition of “Focused” means.

Honestly I always thought they would have an Infinity hopper with Slayer, big team and whatever else that is compatitble with personal ordnance. Then they would have a standard hopper with slayer big team etc, and then the classic hopper with a couple things.

That it would also be cool to have power ups on the map in standard slayer, while keeping the traditional weapons spawns, loadouts, and sprint. Thanks for the response though, I guess I could just settle with classic; I just like my hybrid idea lol. It’s not too classic or too infinity.

looks like that dominion gametype will be in btb but that just a thought

Yes its hard to comprehend how they will handle this wealth of diversity and gametypes. Bungie approached reach exactly how they approached halo 2 + 3 which is why reach’s playlist management was so terrible. Halo 4 is going to need something fresh and consistent which is why 343 even now is still tweaking how they will set up the playlists. Bungie had those things worked out over a month before launch but im glad 343 is putting so much into the game pre and post launch  ☆(^◡^)
