Slayer, fiesta, ffa and swat playlists dropping next week

Let’s see if that’s what comes

I love you all. I love this community, I think there’s a lot of great folks at 343. But they just aren’t getting it. And they’ve spent zero time perfecting Halo in its simplest form (Linear campaign, multiplayer) it’s been nothing but controversy for a decade. And now they wanna “Shoot their load” with an entire free roam/FTP title when they haven’t even proven to the majority of fans that they can even launch a title without disaster. Halo infinite was a great idea! Truly! But with so much revisionism and people leaving due to “Creative differences” we’ve suffered the brunt of the blast. And this game certainly has. It doesn’t take a genius to play this game and see that it’s full of a bunch of half-cocked ideas. Things just don’t flow correctly in a lot of cases and it really shows during the campaign as well as the lack of content. You can’t even spawn with equipment in custom games. At least I can’t find the option to because the entire menu is jacked and looks like someone vomited the options out. I don’t know, fellas. I had some fun playing this game. I’m gonna try my best to support it. But really I think a lot of us are lying to ourselves here, not because we want this game to be good… but because we NEED it to be. Looking at this game though without the bias, it doesn’t hold up to a lot of titles in its genre. It’s no farcry in terms of open world shooters and it’s certainly no Halo 3/ reach when it comes to multiplayer content and expression. So what are we raving about? The art design? No ground pound? Whoopi.

I think the biggest sign of this is that the industry and gamers as a whole are rooting for Halo. Which is great! But please take a moment to understand my words… we’re not rooting for this game… we’re rooting for HALO And there’s a major difference
within that context. That’s a big problem and that creates bias. We have a blind eye that is (I believe) drastically effecting our outlook on this title. Because the hype isn’t and hasn’t, atleast prior to the multiplayer reveals, been about will this next Halo game be great. It’s been about will this next Halo save the franchise. And I think many of us have been prepared to say it has REGARDLESS of whatever major issues may lie within. It’s our identity that we’re fighting with. And we don’t want to lose that. But we will if we keep lying to ourselves and don’t hold it up to a standard. Otherwise why even make art at all? Why sit around and wait for something you love to get it’s Yoink together? That’s called enabling. And in my experience enabling means you don’t really care and that you just are scared of losing the comfort of the thing you enable. If your girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife were doing heroin. You don’t just let them do it and go “Actually I think it’s okay. She’s allowed to do what she like, no judgement” that would ultimately mean you really don’t care. People who care are willing to speak up. People who care will tell you you’re messing up. I see no difference in this scenario. (Other than heroin is a serious epidemic that is worlds more important than Halo. But you get my point.)

The UI definitely needs an improvement.

Also, I think if there was an option to spawn with equipment, it would have been under Loadout in Sandbox, but it isn’t.
I’d really like to spawn with unlimited Grappleshot, but neither option is there it seems.

I think they should be given time to improve the game, but I’m probably going to start complaining again if much hasn’t changed by March.

I don’t know, but it seems like a good enough foundation.
Halo’s always been a pretty good series, not just for its competitive focus but for its social and fun modes.
Co-op, Forge and custom games, Grifball, Firefight, etc.

I still think there’s hope for it, and I think it has a lot that other games don’t have, but I wouldn’t say anyone should act like the game is the best in the genre.
It might improve to that point, but what we have now is a salvageable mess.

That’s true, and I don’t see any problem with that, at least not yet.
It could become the Halo we want, or it could end up not becoming that.
Right now, we just don’t know, but the hope is that it will end up turning out well.

I definitely see people doing that right now, but if you’re grouping what I said in there, I think you’re misunderstanding me.
They’ve been given feedback, but the game isn’t going to drastically improve in a week, and I think the developers should be able to enjoy their holiday vacation (They’re supposed to be on vacation, right? That’s what it sounded like anyway…).

So, I guess what I’m saying is that they should be given that time to relax without people complaining about how the game is done for, and January to improve the game.
My guess is that February is when we might start seeing larger improvements, and that’s why I said that by March, I’d probably start complaining again if much hasn’t changed.

See and I can absolutely see where you’re coming from too. I just sort of have these thoughts at the moment and it’s all so very fresh. I do really appreciate your breakdown of my response and for not getting at me too hard. I just feel I can be a fairly observant guy, and I understand the mannerisms we’re all expressing and the emotions we’re feeling towards this game and Halo as a whole. I just wonder if we’re maybe holding on longer than we need to. At the end of the day, I’ll always be curious what’s going on with master chief. I just don’t know that the rest of the gaming world is. And maybe we should let go.

I’m not sure about others, but I’d say Infinite is the last straw.
If it doesn’t improve, Halo is probably done for (and I wouldn’t have much hope for any game from Microsoft).
However, I think there’s a good chance it will improve, and I also think it’s worth waiting to see what happens because of that.

You got unlimited thrusters in halo 5 at launch.

Funny how a game that was ish in the past does better than what is out now

I really wish we had unlimited Grappleshot and Forge, and that the bots knew how to use Grappleshot and how to multitask.

Yup. I want all the abilites from Halo 5 to come back to custom game options. I want each abliity to have its own options. I seriously just want to fly around like iron man and spider man. That’s one of the things I liked about Halo 5 was the parkour aspect of it

Moving around like Iron Man and Spider-Man would be fun on a huge map, but I was also thinking it would be fun to fight bots while using the Grappleshot to not fall.
