I was wondering because I’m trying to find all the skulls in HALO 5 without any cheat guides, so my question is: Do skulls get pinged on the ARTEMIS?

No they don’t… I know watching YouTube videos can cheapen the experience of “finding them” I would recommend watching one as not all skulls are just there to be found. You have to do certain things to get them to spawn, and it’s stuff you probably wouldn’t think of doing.

I would follow this advice as well. A couple of the skulls have very bizarre requirements that I doubt I would have stumbled upon from actively searching for them. No doubt you can find a few if not most of the skulls, but some of these will have you searching forever.
Sadly no and often times you end up walking right passed them while others, as those before me have mentioned; require you to do certain things to make them pop (such as the one on the mission where you’re evacuating Meridian and you have to do a bunch of stuff like shooting cones while moving quickly through the level or when heading to Meridian initially you have to shoot down the Phaeton and then look in 3 possible areas for it along the area where you get the tank). Ones you’d likely just walk right by are on the first mission, the mission where you are Blue Team on Genesis where you’d later return as Osiris to fight the double Wardens, the one on the Kraken mission (where you actually FIGHT the Kraken rather than watching it go by), and even mission Blue Team (there are a few others.)
Skulls were always kind of just out of sight, you’d really need to know what you’re doing or else you’d pass by some while others you might accidentally find while looking for ammo or weapons. 343 just went the extra mile with these ones just like Bungie did in Halo 2 with requiring some to be obtained while playing Legendary (let us never forget the trouble those had trying to get IWHBYD to spawn up in Halo 2…).
I thought I was the only one left in the world who doesn’t use guides to find things in video games. Props to you for wanting to find them without a guide telling you where they are, and good luck!
Some skulls in halo 5 are kinda just random. Sometimes I find myself just saying “who would think to look here?”.

I can almost agree but considering you have to do some stuff to get them to spawn it’s not just looking for them at the end of the day like it is the data pads . You have to spawn some of the skulls by doing stuff.

Its been a while since I actually played halo 5’s campaign the only skull i can ever think of is the skull obtainable by shooting down a phaeton i think?

Yeah I was trying to avoid spoilers but they is one and another here you had to shall we say travel a certain distance on a certain vehicle … But like I said there are some that aren’t just there.

Yeah sadly I am going to look up how to find them because I want to find them all and get the achievement

Agreed. I played thru the game, then anything I didn’t find I watched YouTube for. Some I never would have found.
Finding the one with the grunts the best.
