So most of us have been playing Halo for a long time and have gotten pretty good at painting the walls with Covenant blood. So looking at the new Campaign info we got, I was a bit worried about how easy this game can end up given how many tools and information the game seems to give you. The things that caught my attention were
- The Boss health bars - The Upgradable abilities and their permanence - The Forward Operating BasesFor the Boss health bars, I’d like a skull that removes them. The point of skulls it to modify the campaign, and thus the AI, to easier (Envy, Acrophobia, Bandana), harder (Iron, Black Eye, Mythic) or funnier (GBP, IWHBYD). Some even make the game easier or harder depending on the situation (Cowbell depends on who has the explosives, Catch makes the AI throw more grenades, but give more to the player after killing them). All I’m really saying is that if Halo will give a skull that removes our HUD, and by extension, our own health, then a skull that removes enemy health indicators isn’t too far fetched.
We have upgradable Armor Abilities for Campaign! Small problem, it doesn’t seem like they can ever run out, they just have a cool down. I think a skull that functions like black eye where you have to punch enemies to get you charges back could be fun and make gameplay more dynamic. Or maybe a skull where you have to kill brutes/elites with headshots to recharge equipment. This would make combat more fluid and not be focused on hiding in a corner waiting for that Thruster-cloak thing to recharge. Lastly, I think a skull that treats equipment like pickups or limit how many you can carry (or completely removes them) could be fun for the particularly masochistic. I already know that I want to do a playthrough where I don’t upgrade the tree to see just how tough these banished really are.
Finally, the FOBs. It seems like these base will allow the player to spawn in weapons, (variants?), and vehicles. Immediately they show us that you can just spawn a wasp… I’d simply like a skull that maybe limits what vehicles/weapons can be spawned in. This campaign has a lot of potential for exploration where player can craft you stories and experiences. It’d be a shame if half our time was spent scrolling through a menu and waiting for pelican drops.
So, do any of you fellow Spartans (or Kaidons, I respect Elite lovers) have any skull modifiers that you hope to see in Halo Infinite. They don’t have to be relate to my gripes. Just anything fun or cool.
