I don’t know if you guys have seen this yet, but people are putting large amounts of skitterers on engineers and shrouds. Between the two one heals the other while the shroud blocks incoming anti-air.
What are your guys thoughts? Because I am convinced that is the single dumbest thing I have seen in a game before, way to overpowered with one hand washing the other. Support units should not have the ability to be weaponized.
They’re slow and you can’t tell the skitters where to shoot. Mix in anti-air and focus fire one at a time after using some sort of leader power to weaken them all.
not op at all. Plus colony has no teleport, so just lure his army out and destroy his base.
You can only put one skitter on one engineer. So it would be a 1:1 ratio. And if the enemy is equipped with anti-air, it doesn’t help much more than having a group of 5 engineers, and the Shroud doesn’t block that much anti-air. Or leader powers.
There are ways to beat it.

As mentioned above, the inability to focus their fire hurts them. Also, they take a little while to ramp up and aren’t terribly cost effective.
Banshees destroy them with plasma torpedo (granted that’s t3) and enough infantry/anti-air can focus them down.
That said, yes they can be kind of obnoxious if you don’t get the chance to scout them out.

Good call! Skirmished for a bit and realized they are extremely ineffective.

I tried this out when the patch first came out. It is good for map control but doesn’t doesn’t do enough damage to buildings to kill them. It also loses to mass infantry early. I think there is a place for this build but it would be for very specific scenarios.
On a side not it is incredibly fun when it works out and you realize you haven’t lost a unit the entire game.
Reavers and I think Wolverines detect cloak, also skitterbugs don’t that much damage, and they can’t tell them to attack a single target.
Infantry spam beats it pretty easily.
So does AV focus firing.
