I’ve played a handful of multiplayer matches but I’m not sure if this happens there.
i wanted to mess around a bit in skirmish to learn the ropes of the game a bit and I chose captain cutter. The AI chose Atriox. I built up my army and decided to attack the enemy but all of the enemy bases were cloaked. I waited and tried using a sniper to detect it and nothing happened. I carried on waiting and it never uncloaks.
Is this a glitch or am I missing something really obvious?

No problem, this happened to me my second game and I was very confused!
Banished bases are pretty op. Not only can the have a turret that counters air, vehicle and infantry but the also have a shield and a cloaking generator. It’s not a glitch its an actual thing you can build. It also cloaks the fresh build units and generelly every ally near the base.
