Skip-Forward In Theater

Please, 343. I think you’re doing a fine job with the rest of the game, but seriously, I hate it when I have to sit there holding down the bumper for 10 minutes just to see that sweet multikill I pulled off. Can you add some sort of skip-forward option? Or perhaps the ability to scroll through the game with the analog stick?

The main reason you can’t because Theater isn’t just a recorded video and available for replay, it takes data from the game, like the movement you do and the routes you take and replay it using that data, it actually needs to go through all that data before you can skip forward.

With Halo 4 using a heavily modified Reach engine, I wouldn’t expect it to be skippable in Halo 4 either.

It seems that the only sweet kills I get are at the ends of games… and I’m always too lazy to sit there waiting to get to it in theater… so many awesome moments down the drain.

With this said, since the engine has been modified heavily, it’s pretty safe to assume that theater will render games quicker which, in turn, will allow you to fast-forward through it quicker than you could in Halo: Reach.

A skip function would be nice, but I don’t see it happening.

You should be able to choose your start point.

This sentence has no logical backing at all.

I would love the ability to skip forwards and backwards without holding the trigger down for so long, too.

I’d also like to be able to record… and pause… then record again- making an ‘edited’ recording.

How does it not? Since the engine’s going to obviously be better, films should render a lot quicker, which SHOULD allow you to fast-forward through it quicker.

Please tell me where I’m wrong. >_>
