I thought that if you reached a ranking you can lose your tier but not go down a rank. Like you reach silver and you can’t go down to bronze. Well, today I went from Silver 1 to Bronze 6.

That was changed several months ago.
I never heard the ranking work like that. I thought you could always lose a tier

The ranking system launched with players unable to derank between divisions. It was changed I think back in Sept / Oct to allow this to happen

Yeah, I heard of the ranking changing but I never really looked into it. I’m not much of a ranked or arena player. I find I have more fun in warzone than I do in arena
