Skill Ranking Needs Work.

I think the ranking system is bad, I’m okay with it, but it could much much better especially for a game that’s focused so heavily on the eSports scene. Firstly, it is very inconsistent, for example, sometimes I do great but only get +5 skill points, then I’ll do okay, and get +21 skill points. I do like how it’s based on W/L but Solo performance should also play a factor. It being based solely on W/L is a problem because you could be -Yoink- player or perform poorly but get carried by the rest of your team, then get rewarded for it. Or you could have a great game, say 18 kills 4 deaths, but the rest of your team doesn’t hold up and you lose and get punished even though you played well. I just think it isn’t very representative of the true skill of a player.

But I think I have a pretty good solution to that. I think if you win or lose, it adds or subtracts 10 skill points. And depending on your solo performance it could add up to 10 or 15 skill points, or go down 10 points. Here some examples to clarify. So say you do pretty good, 14 kills, 9 deaths and you’re team wins. you could get about 16 to 18 Skill Points. 10 for the Win and about 8 for solo performance. Say you do bad, 7 kills, 12 deaths, but you’re team wins so you get +10 for the win, and -6 for solo performance, total of +4 Skill Points. You do really bad, and lose, say 3 kills 14 deaths, you lose about 20-25 Skill points. You do amazing, near perfection, 20+ kills, minimal deaths, and win the match, you should get 22-25 skill points.

A system similar to this would be great. It would represent a players skill level very well, properly weeding out the great, the good, the okay, the bad, and the -Yoinking!- ugly. And it would make matchmaking very easy to balance and keep it fun for everyone. Bump if you agree, and give me your thoughts on this topic.
