I really love the Halo 3 ranking system, but in Halo 4 we have reach’s system where n00bs can rank up. So…343, can we please, please, please have the skill level return and be displayed in matchmaking for us competitive players. I would be okay with hidden ranks IF we have skill levels (1-50) that are displayed.
It’s already confirmed that Halo 4 will have a skill-based ranking system. There will also be a progression system like in Reach.
There hasn’t much info on the ranking system. If you’re asking for 1-50 to come back then you should look at this.

Halo 4 will have both s progression system(halo reach) and a skill system. The skill system will only make your rank visible to YOU, no one else. This will give players a skill goal to work for, without the strong level of abuse that was in halo 3. The progression system will be used to unlock armor and loadouts.
I would like skill ranking, but I really don’t care. You still have a k/d.
There is a hidden ranking system that is separate from the exp progression system. However even with the progression system if you don’t win your games you receive significantly less exp then if you did.
