Halo Infinite has two 4v4 style playlists. Quickplay and ranked. One playlist should be for increasing your rank, sweating and going all out. The other should be for chill relaxed play with some buddies or by yourself. While ranked does its job well and is very fun to play with the right team, quickplay does not do its job. Quickplay is almost unbearable to play, with how strong the SKBM is. I consider myself to be a half decent player, and when I play quick it is a literal sweat fest and is no fun for me to play. My buddies whom I play with and who are not as skilled as I am get annihilated in quickplay because they always get matched against players of my skill level when their just not at that level. This makes it impossible to just relax and have a good time with your buddies in a game mode that’s supposed to give that option. This is very upsetting because none of my friends or even me want to get queued up against players of a much higher caliber in a playlist that is supposed to be for relaxed play. If I want to sweat and have tough competitive games I play ranked where SKBM belongs, NOT in quickplay where SKBM should be removed or at least dialed back a good bit.
Yeah, Quickplay is currently THE playlist to get your $h1t pushed in. My main gripe with Infinite is that there is no place to chill in multiplayer unless you want to fight bots which nobody(even the kids) wants to do.

Since all of Halo wanted to be competitively oriented, some of the fun that social games provided has been lost. Having global stats based on a competitive approach and an SBMM system for matchmaking just makes each social game equal to a ranked match.
Yup. But as long as the data shows that player retention in quick play is higher with a super restrictive SBMM system they will keep it that way. To hell with the die hard fans and good players. Gotta cater to the lowest common denominator
