Skill assist

I’ve been skeptical of Halo 5, but I realized something: I’ll now have some new buttons to make up for my lack of strafing, aiming, or teamwork abilities!

Man, I just love the thruster ability. I’ll be able to escape from bad positioning, and chase players for kills so easily!

And who wants to have to decide to start shooting a player or wait until they’re close enough to melee? I don’t have to worry about that now, I can press a button and ground pound/body spear from across the room! Amazing

I could never make any moderately difficult jumps in previous Halos, but I don’t have to worry about that anymore because pressing a button lets me climb over stuff with minimal effort. Even better, I can press a few buttons successively and superman jump/thrust/climb across the map in no time! I can even jump/thrust/throw/climb flags! (I hated having to work with my team and know when to pick up, ghost or juggle run the flag intelligently)

Man, Halo 5 really looks like it will make it much easier for me and others like me to not suck so horribly at “competitive”.

I hate this post. Dont be happy that its easier for you. But its ok the game makesbit easier for you not to suck while for me it makes it easier to dominamte so in turn to be honest yoh might still suck compared to players who know what they are doing

You have no idea what you are talking about since you obviously didn’t play the beta more than checking out the menu. Don’t you recognize the flaw in your arguments? The thing that makes a game competitive is a lot of things, but on of the most important aspects is that everyone has equal starts and no one has an advantage beyond pure skill, so that skill is the sole factor in play. The flaw in your argument is that you talk about being able to chase players easily with your thrusters, but you forget to realize that the one you’re chasing also has thrusters. The same with the rest of your examples. There is also an important dynamic that obviously missed your brain, which is that using abilities comes with a cost; such as groundpounding places you in a vulnerable position, and using sprint to run away while being shot at will prevent your shileds from charging.

The whole problem with your thinking is that EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME THINGS. THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU CAN jump, thruster throw a flag, THEN SO CAN EVRYONE ELSE. THIS MEANS THAT IT COMES DOWN TO COMPETITIVE SKILL! And like this argument, you will lose to me in Halo 5.

Let’s talk about this when we have the game maybe.
