I was playing Halo Reach with my six year old today (we’re both down with the flu) in SWAT game types… I was going around 1.0 k/d plus or minus and he was consistently about 1 or 2 kills and 15 deaths (hey, it’s a game and he’s learning).
We just tried to log back in after lunch and we are Credit Banned temporarily. Okay, never been banned on XBL for anything before. Is it possible that the reason we’re banned is because he was doing so poorly online?
No worries, just curious! Looking forward to Halo 4 and just picked up The Thursday War last night and so far so good.
It probably was because of how poorly he was doing. It might have thought that you were idling and trying to boost cR so they banned you. By they I mean the system, it’s automatic.

What’s wrong with it, I agree to an extent if they’re screaming down the microphone, but if they’re playing and doing good, nothing wrong with it, the number on the box doesn’t mean you have to be that age to play it.

I agree with The Little Moa. I’m 12 years old but I rarely use my mic with randoms, even if I do use my mic, it’s generally with friends in a party with the party chat option selected. But even then I don’t scream into the mic. But I do agree to some extent, if they scream down the mic, then just mute them and avoid the player, it’s not that hard.
Bungie (and now 343i) wanted idling for whole games to be a bannable offense, but Reach can’t actually detect idling. The automated banhammer therefore has to guess at it: players that earn zero points over several recent matches are assumed to have idled, and are given credit bans.
You are one of the numerous false-positives that the system has taken action against. :\
The first credit ban should be 24 hours. Next is a week. After that, two weeks. The bans are automatic, apply to your entire console (and any account that signs onto Reach through that console), and cannot be appealed.

true, its just the annoying, screaming part, that drives me insane. Even when i mute them, it gets annoying by there gameplay.

To be honest, i could understand when CE came out, but when 2 came out, thats when i started getting annoyed with young players.

Am 14, and for me it’s all the way around, they start insulting me cause of my name, and doing nonsense.

This is NOT the place to have a discussion over who should/shouldn’t be playing Halo. OP was asking about credit bans, that’s all that should have been discussed.
