Past Tenrai and Tactical I don’t have a huge reason to keep up. Try to hit Onyx in ranked I guess? Basically finished this bad boy front to back the first month. Here’s the sitch though,
I think this CAN be the BEST Halo game, but that Season 2… Needs to pack a lot. You wanna’ know why there’s no roadmap? Nose to the grindstone, getting promised features ready, but realistically folks it’s gonna’ be a while. Infinite won’t be properly finished until late 2022 I don’t think and I’m… pretty sure the mark was missed for a hugely lively game. Yes, playercount is consistently fine, good even!
But hoo baby the content there… there is not a lot.
I like the events, in theory. I like what’s on offer. I really do not like how much is gated off and I doubly dislike, like… Just, more launches without forge? I did not think six months would feel THIS long.
I got faith, but that Forge has to launch GOOD and those Custom Games NEED more options and to be fixed proper.
I believe in 343i, but if this ain’t rockin’ it launch-hard by Season 3 we got a problem. Big one.

Forge is going to launch good because it isn’t being developed by 343.
The problem is will Servers be fixed enough to make customs enjoyable?

I kinda’ like ranked challenges but that’s large in part because I like ranked. It is odd that there’s challenges for ranked.

Given the success of SkyboxLabs’ Forge Mode for Halo 5: Guardians, it makes sense that they are the ones developing the Forge Mode for Halo Infinite.
And if 343 is dumb enough to make forge on their own… then may god help us all.

Monetizing Forge would instantly bring the player count to 343 bots and no players.

Given the success of Forge in Halo 5 allowing for the game to keep players coming back for so long, yeah.
It makes it at least an 85% assurance that we will see Forge mode be well made.
Given all the situations we are having with a new engine and the fact that PC players will be playing with Forge, they are probably bug and cheat proofing the gamemode; hence the season 3 delay.
If the mode is primed and ready before Season 3 launches, then 343 will likely launch it as soon as available to make amends as an apology.

fair point… but at this point, i’m just setting my expectations THAT low. forge is gunna have sims 4 levels of DLC, 10 bucks a pack. i’m just pre-maturely disappointing myself so 343 doesn’t do it more.
and honestly, why wouldn’t they? 343 defenders will have excuses out the arsh for it, like:
‘bruh, it’s a builder mode, of course it’l have dlc’
‘dude, it’s f2p, stop complaining, the company needs money somehow’
‘okay boomer, it’s a multiplayer game, go play a actual sandbox game if you want to build something’
so the game wont be dead, zoomers who have their bad parents and mother’s credit card will reward 343, people who’re really hopeful and passionate about forge would also pay, thus keeping the player base decently fine before it, as you said, slowly dies. and greedy 343 would make their money’s worth along with moneysoft
