Sins of the Prophets (Halo Based Mod)

If you are familiar with the acclaimed 4x strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire (SoaSE) you will know of the huge scale of the space battles and the intricacies of spreading your empire. If not then it is about building huge fleets of space ships and sending them to fight other huge fleets of space ships and the winner of the two opposing huge fleets of ships in space gets control of what ever planet happens to be below the aforementioned space ship fleets (That are Huge).

Sins of the Prophets (SotP) is a great Halo based mod for SoaSE Entrenchment (with a planned released for Rebellion at a later date) that brings something that the Halo games have never full shown or developed, the epic space battles from the Halo books. The space battles are a prime part of the books and the Halo canon but it is only slightly glossed over in the Halo games.

SotP places you in command of the entire UNSC/ Covenant/ Forerunner empire and pits you against all those that stand in the way of your empire’s supremacy. The UNSC is the only playable faction at the moment, released in a public beta on moddb.com. The Covenant are being worked on and released at a later date. When the Covenant are done SotP will be transferred over to SoaSE Rebellion and the Forerunners will then be released.

SotP seeks to stay as close to the canon of the Halo books as possible. The UNSC require at least 3 to 1 odds to win against Covenant ships with thousands of opposing ships engaging each other across a universe of planets and stars. Super Mass Acceleration Cannons (SMACs, from Halo 2 and Halo: The Fall of Reach) really do put rounds clean through Covenant capital ships. But with the Covenant not released yet the mod is currently based in 2543, 9 years before the first Halo installation is found and before the Covenant made first contact. The UNSC is still in heated battle with Insurrectionist forces, whom have acquired the means to combat the UNSC in space.

The battling in SotP is quite distinct from that of SoaSE. Most battles are fast paced and dominating the various solar systems requires you to stay on your toes and plan ahead.

If you like Halo, the Halo books and/or the following: strategy games, SoaSE, watching things explode, awesomeness then check out SotP.

I realize there are a lot of photos but name one that isn’t awesome. I was also nice and put them in spoiler tags. That is just a small selection of the 100% completed UNSC fleet.

That is all you get for now.

Well I can’t post pictures it would seem.

Where is the love :frowning: ? No one? Here I will post some more pics to see if some one responds:

Covenant weapons feature large heated balls of plasma and energy beams mentioned in Halo: The Fall of Reach. More are being added right now.

I will continue to update even if no one shows their love:

UNSC frigate factories are textured and ready to be put in game

No ones getting past these defenses in one piece:

And Forerunner structures baby, any guesses at what it does :stuck_out_tongue:  ?:

Halo’s final frontier… RTS IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE!!!

I’d play this, would be epic.

Cool mod. Perhaps I should buy SoaSE on steam soon.

SoaSE Trinity is only $20 on steam and it includes the Original SoaSE, SoaSE Entenchment (The one you need) and SoaSE Diplomacy. It goes on sale occasionally for around $10 so if you don’t want to pay $20 definitely buy it for $10. We get lots of fans sayin gthat they bought SoaSE specifically to play this mod. And there a variety oif other great SoaSE mods out there inluding but no limited to:

Dawn of the Reapers: Mass Effect based mod

Sacrifice of Angels 2: Star Trek based mod

Sins of a Galactic Empire: Star War based mod

Shame I’ve got a Mac :frowning: I’d love to see a Halo RTS like this done by MS for PC. Halo Wars, and RTS for consoles in general, just don’t cut it IMO

I love seeing what a community can do when its allowed to be a community. What treasured gifts! Imagine all the singular improvements that could be created in Halo 4, but you know, Microsoft blind as a fruit bat.

That looks simply amazing.

Sins of a Solar Empire - Rebellion is only $13 right now, dirt cheap. I highly recommend getting it in preparation for SotP Rebellion release. There are lots of awesome mods for Rebellion to tied you over also, like:

Dawn of the Reapers : Mass Effect based mod, so all the awesome battles from the ME games on a huge-er scale.(Not released yet, but soon.)

Sins of a Galactic Empire: Star Wars based mod already released for Rebellion. It is pretty cool.

Star trek Armada: Star Treck based mod (Not released)

Sacrifice of Angels 2: Another Star Trek mod for fully released and functioning.

StarGate: Invasion: Stargate based mod. It is released but needs work.

Just bought SoaSE - Rebellion on steam a few hours ago… I shall d/l & install it when my net is no longer capped, and then my body will be ready for SotP mod.

When I see SoaSE Trinity on sale again, I shall get it.

Nice. SotP Rebellion release is still a way of but the Dawn of the Reapers mod is supposed to be release in June or July some time. I recommend using your time to practice at Sins a bit, the game isn’t difficult once you know what you are doing but it takes awhile to learn the game-play.

If you need help installing mods I may be able to help but most mods have a read me in them so I would refer to that or to the mods FAQs before asking, most modders get annoyed fast.

Also if anyone wants someone to play SoaSE with add me on Steam: KhevaKins

Great game play videos from this dedicate fan, taken using the public release version of the mod.

Thanks blazekingaion.

This looks amazing.

I primarily use a MAC (had to), but I’ll have to see if I can steal one of the other computers in the house. And get Sins of a Solar Empire.

It looks really amazing right now. Those environments, and those ships… I can’t wait! I also wanna see more of the Covies.

Hopefully there will be a Rebellion release before the end of the year.
In the words of the mighty SlooseCannon, “Just… gonna put this on the table and walk away…”

My interest has been significantly spiked. When I buy myself a new PC for Christmas (this machine can barely run Halo 2 PC!)I’ll definately get this game to try out the mod! It looks great!

The Sins of the Prophets Rebellion version is now actively in production and should be finished soon. Here are some screenshots I took while playing the playtester version: http://imgur.com/a/JdIGA . What do you think?

Also the SotP wikia is coming along swimmingly, the UNSC is pretty much finished. Check it out: http://sotp.wikia.com/wiki/UNSC
