So I’m kind of curious; I understand that Spartan Ops is intended to be a cooperative mode (and its looks like its shaping up to be amazing!), but personally whenever I play anything story-related with Halo I like do do so alone for the first playthrough so I can really immerse myself in what’s going on.
Has 343i confirmed that Spartan Ops can be played by just one person locally? I know that you could do that with Firefight, even though that was also built from the ground up for co-op. Thank you in advance!
I totally agree with you, I really hope this is like a campaign. Solo-ability and all.
One guy who got to go to 343 (He played Slayer and such but didn’t get any campaign/SO time) said he thinks it’ll be like Mass Effect 3’s MP.

I really hope that’s not the case here… Would be nice if they did what they did with Reach, and scaled the difficulty accordingly. I just want to ability to play alone so I can integrate Spartan Ops into my chronological campaign playthroughs.
343 has confirmed you can play it by yourself, but they also said it will be harder since you’re on your own. I say, challenge accepted.

While watching one of the Spartan Ops videos im 99% sure I saw a menu that allows you to select your difficulty for Spartan Ops. So you can play any difficulty, it will just be harder to solo in that particular difficulty.
I’m pretty sure either Franky or Josh said you can solo it, but say it will be more enjoyable with friends.

With the horrid lag that has plagued every co-op game in every mode in every Halo game ever?
Doubtful. I’m not trying to bash anything, but if Bungie couldn’t work the Netcode right, what’s to say 343i can?
I’m betting if you play solo, your gonna be pinned down in one position for a while if you look at that released Spartan Ops gameplay.
Atleast it’s unlikely that it’s like Mass Effect 3 because Halo doesn’t have levels or skills. ME3 MP is just nightmare when you try to solo with a level 1 guy with some starting weapons. You need to have a high level character to have a chance even on Bronze.
