SIngle player campaign, What do you want?

Okay i know this probaly seems outdated atleast with my thinking but here goes.

Halo single players have always been memoriable to me even halo 5 and its buggy sqaud system. However wat i want to see in Halo Infinites single player is a true single player that you can explore by yourself or with up to 4 friends on a screen seeing as we are getting co-op back.(This includes 3 person splitscreen to). Now I have no problems with the open world that is shown however im more worried about Halo infinite becoming a clone of destiny with players wandering around. I also dont want to see single player online i want to be able to play my single player offiline.

Anyway thats my 2 cents what do you want to see?

I’d like a campaign story that follows naturally from the previous game. I don’t want any cliches or lazy narrative elements. I don’t want to see any retcons. I’d like to see the campaign push the envelope with the Chief a bit more, something Halo 4 started to do but Halo 5 didn’t really follow up on. I’d like to see new enemy types, or at least revamped enemy factions, as we’ve defeated the Covenant twice now so fighting another organization of Elites, Grunts, and Jackals would feel tired. I’d like to see level variety, and I would love to see space combat return like we saw in Halo Reach.

We haven’t been shown anything that suggests Infinite will be an “open-world” game. All we’ve seen was a engine demo that featured expansive environments.

I want to see larger scale non-linear levels that play differently depending on what order you complete objectives. I want more levels like silent cartographer and new alexandria. I am soooo tired of going down a narrow trench path everytime i get into a scorpion tank. Thats boring. Halo vehicle gameplay is amazing but at lleast give me an area the scale of battle of noctus for the vehicle arena’s to fight it out with hoards of wraiths and banshees etc. If they can do it in warzone with 24 players and AI i hope they can do it in campaign with the slipspace engine.

I agree,while in most fps games there are usually too much area defend missions,in Halo i think there are too little such moments.And judging by H5 Firefight it could be done very well.

Not to kill off a major Antagonist in the first minute or so in a cutscene when the game barely starts. Bring back Mendicant Bias, Offensive Bias, and possibly Ur-Didact in a WarSphynx, Seeker, or Guardian.

Don’t make a love story between Chief and Cortana. You brought in The Warden Eternal…so keep him in play or kill him off during gameplay. If Cortana dies…keep her dead this time. Let Chief live at the end…no sacrifice for the greater good cliché. Don’t kill anyone from Blue Team……speaking of Blue Team…bring back the other surviving Spartan IIs. Don’t kill them off in a comic that no ones going to read. Bring in Chakkas/ 343 Guilty Spark (Your name BTW) and let him tell us some Ancient Humanity lore…(he’s also looking for the Librarian right?)

Bringing in Atriox, Cutter, and ‘‘friends’’ would be nice too…given that Anders was last left off face to face with a Guardian. Lastly…a proper Arbiter and Chief ‘‘reunion’’ would be cool.

Something along the lines of borderlands seems like it would fit well with the rumors so far. Honestly, I just need a campaign with splitscreen. No splitscreen campaign, no purchase.

Obviously, if they go the borderlands esque route, no character selection. Just chief please!

Buck was an ODST from Fall of Reach days made Spartan…which he should have been before…but reasons. Vale is a linguist…a Sangheili one notably…there’s not much reason for her to continue on I think. Tanaka didn’t have much to offer from what I remember. Locke was an ONI Agent made Hunter-Killer (SPARTAN EDITION).

. Personally…I didn’t really like their involvement. Characters I liked…but at the time I was hoping just for Chief and Blue Team. If they’re going to explore a new “ingame team” it definitely should’ve been Blue Team. Book-Readers and the like very well know they’ve known Chief for ages and are family. Reggies (people that just game) don’t know them at all really. If Osiris comes back that’s cool…If they don’t…I aint complaining.

Appereance of the flood, non-human species speacking a language the player dont understand, possibility to drive new vehicules, a come back of the classical art style, a storyline that will not exclusively turn around cortana and the forerunners, the introduction of new non-human species and new fight mechanics.

Personally, im not a big fan of the prometheans. Its maybe the art syle or the way to fight them, maybe both, but the only time i enjoyed the recent halo games is when i was fighting the covenant. I think the game will also need to see the reintroduction of the drones and the engineer for strategic purpose (the drones are light aerial infantry dealing low damages but with a high mobility, and the engineer is a support unit that can provide a shield boost for neabry enemies)

Finally, i greatly hope the game will explore the environment and the personnages.

And a couple of scarabs to take down if possible (a classic).

The one thing Chief has been doing constantly in the classic campaigns, was saving marines. Escape pods, downed Pelicans, etc. That’s all I want, and guess what the announcement video showed? Chief saving a bunch of marines. At least 343 knows what’s up ;p

Fire Team Osiris I think was disbanded. Buck went back to the remains of his ODST team (I think it’s explained in Halo: Bad Blood?), I think Locke returned to ONI, and lord only knows what happened to Vale and Tanaka. Very short lived team, sadly; not that I had much love for them, but it’s rather depressing that since 343i couldn’t really get the spark of adoration to ignite in us, they just broke Osiris up (unless they had this planned from the beginning? idk)

For me, I’d like to see the campaign just as good as the campaigns of the classic Halo games especially being as good as Halo 3. I thought of the campaign having 12 missions and 4 main boss battles in which they would appear every 3 missions (main bosses being in levels 3, 6, 9, and of course the final boss in 12). I would be fine choosing a character to play as in the campaign like in Halo 5 which is the only campaign feature of Halo 5 I like while all other features for the Halo Infinite should be similar to that of the classic Halo games. The characters that a person can choose to play as in the campaign would be either the Master Chief or the Arbiter from what I thought of.

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to assume we’re not getting a Destiny style “shared world experience” as that entirely negates the power fantasy of Halo not to mention drop kicks the story in the face region. Personally, I’d like to see the removal of the squad system in favor of the Halo Reach style squad or even better no squad at all (I’ll make an exception for my boi, Arby.) On top of that, I want the Guardians to be done with as well as Cortana’s villain arch to be finished. This is tenfold after what we found out from our Queen Bonnie Ross’s interview where she talked about a TEN YEAR plan with Halo. I’m so hyped for that, as long as they manage to get a new story up. But, since this is apparently the launch of a new story I have great faith in our bois and girls over at 343. I loved the original trilogy, but the reclaimer’s saga left a sour taste in most of the fans mouths (mine included). Most of all, I want to see a return of the beloved OG Halo gameplay. No sprint, no thrusters, no spartan charge, no ground pound, and no armor abilities. Aiming down the sights is kinda meh for me, I wouldn’t be too swayed either way to be completely honest.

Bring back the brutes. Let’s also have Flood abominations(play Halo Wars 2) in the campaign. We should get an open world experience. No loading screens. Have the Primordial in as the main bad guy. Bring back the sentinels. End the game in a sad cliffhanger where the flood leaves installation 07 but Master Chief still has hope for the future. Last but not least no level up rpg elements.

You’re right. We don’t need a Destiny style “shared world experience” and a different squad system from Halo 5 or no squad at all (I agree with making the exception for the awesome guy, the Arbiter) would be a better useful idea.

I agree about the Destiny stuff. I’m open to the idea of open world but I don’t want a shared world/online shooter. Keep it offline and co-op as an option.

I would want the campaign with no generic situations, no cheesy dialogue, side characters that slowly latch on to you, a story that keeps pulling you further and further, never a dull moment, I feel like halo these days tries to hard to force a storytelling motive where’s there’s no room left for mystery or a buildup feeling. It would be nice to see old faces return such as Jun or lord hood, bucks former ODST squad, and to see shipmaster and the shadow of intent, maybe links up with the infinity, add a new character that’s a brute and becomes an ally against Cortana. Maybe play a few missions as any of these characters and the arbitar but keeping master chief as majority played character throughout the game.

Perhaps the Flood Abomination can be the mini boss in the mission where the ancient Gravemind is the main boss. The Flood Abomination mini boss can be occurring after the player defeated two Flood Juggernauts. And bringing back the Brutes would be a very good idea and the same for bringing back the Drones since I’d like to see both of those Covenant species return and I so agree with getting rid of level up RPG elements because we sure don’t need that.

A warthog run, a decent story and none of that silly squad nonsense.

That’s it really, nothing too ambitious. Just more Halo.
