Just curious.
What makes you ask this?
Yeah… Halo isn’t realistic.
You’ve been lied to
> What makes you ask this?
For ME, it’s all the Pro-Sprint arguments. It’s realistic to RUN, great. I don’t care, prove to me how it’s better for gameplay.

It’s good and bad for gameplay…
It’s good for game play because it speed things up, you can get to objectives, vehicles, weapons, power ups, and other people quicker. You can quickly get to a friend who is under fire from a tank, and you can go take out the tank.
It’s bad for game play because it also slows things down, you can run away from some one trying to kill you, and enemy team mates can support the enemy team member you’re trying to kill quicker, which makes things harder for you.

First of all, the things you said aren’t even good for gameplay… Getting to objective, vehicles, weapons, power ups faster… everyone has sprint now so we get there at the same speed, and even the objective part just makes capturing the flag a very unfair game.
Secondly, you said it speeds things up, and it slows things down. Don’t really get the logic there.
Now enough of that, that’s 2 months ago’s threads.
Being able to sprint isn’t realistic. It’s common sense.

Actually, 343i is balncing the “run away” part. When shot while sprinting, you slow down, making it more difficult if not impossible to get away safely.

Still doesn’t make it good for gameplay, which is the only reason to ever add/change game mechanics.

Or, for realism or limmersion. New mechanics get added for that sometimes too.

I know, I’m looking at both sides of the argument for when it comes to sprint… All but the “Sprint isn’t cannon” argument…

Or maybe to enhance the story and feel of the game? So that you no longer feel like a fat child wandering through a desert, but that you can now run, and feel like you actually are a super soldier.
I like being able to get from point A to point B with some modicum of speed.

Stop imagining sprint with the mechanics of Reach and Halo 3, it’s Halo 4, it will probably be more useful than detrimental. There is a higher chance of sprint being successful in Halo 4, than there is of it failing, 343 have been working hard to fix the bugs and balance it for a long time, Frankie even said that if someone is sprinting away you can shoot them and it slows down the sprint. It’s on the little English blog, the quote I mean.
I don’t see whats the problem with adding sprint. To be honest it’s about time they add it in as default ability.

Not to mention that they’re already catering maps to sprint. This means larger maps, which equals slower gameplay.
Anyone in support of sprint doesn’t have too much knowledge about gameplay at all, and it’s a shame that 343 is including sprint specifically to cater to people that hardly know what Halo is.

If the maps are being made with sprint in mind and the increased movement speed, you’d think that it wouldn’t mean slower gameplay. The maps are made to accommodate to it. Their small maps and design for medium to big will work fine imo. Reach games were always finished unless there were quiters/campers, but never ran out do to sprint. When I physically see sprint effect the gameplay while playing, then I may have another outlook on it, but the games feel fine for me in Reach.
Since 343i took Halo changing lores and mechanics you didnt know? oh yeah mostly everyone didnt care about it
