In the Episode 6 cutscene (which was AMAZING by the way) Spartan Thorne takes out two fully armored elites with a single storm rifle bolt!
WHAT SORCERY DOES HE POSSESS?
EIther there has been a major nerf that we are unaware about or spartan Thorne has a REALLY overpowered damage boost.
(Or it was just for cutscene purposes to make him look like a bad -Yoink-)

It was likely for cinematic purposes either to make it cool or just to shorten the time. I thought I was the only one who noticed this though.
Well he did nail the Elite with a punch. Also they had no reason to have their shields on so with a melee and a storm rifle shot that could have done it.

I wish the storm rifle was as powerful as he used itin Multiplayer. I mean it’s still good but i feel it overheats too fast and the plasma goes all over the place lol.
I noticed that too, but just shrugged it off as it was probably for pacing purposes (as a poster above mentioned). I also have to agree, I REALLY liked today’s Spartan Ops.
They probably didn’t have their shields up, a point-blank shot to the head would do it; as far as they were aware Thorne was still out cold. Not to mention Thorne nailed that one elite in the knee; considering how much MJOLNIR armor enhances human strength, that probably knocked the elite’s knee out of its socket.
In the actual lore, Plasma weapons are incredibly strong. For example, only one or two shots from a Plasma Pistol are needed to kill an unarmored human in the lore.
Well personally, I beleive that it was only used to make it shorter and look cooler, it does really suite the real canon of Halo. In the books, its explains that the plasma fired is superheated and can melt through pretty much anything (comparable to the heat of the sun), so no matter who you are, elite or human, getting fired bare skin, no sheilds, its gona -Yoinking!- hurt, a lot. So if it were reality, in the game, everytime you would shoot an elite with no sheilds, they would probably hunch over and hold their stomachs (probably do their mandible scream too), or the elites are some tough suns of -Yoinks!-. The only reason you they don’t do this is because it would take away from the action of the game.
