Since when HALO becames a racing game?

Really, when?
Besides a few people with nothing to do anymore in the campaign, I can’t imagine why someone would enjoy racing through the game in the fastest time possible.
I can cope with one or another achievement related with this bizarre “time attack” fascination, but lock the campaign SCORE with time???

343, learn to separate things; TIME is one thing. SCORE is another. Even modern racing games knows this. And Halo is not even a racing game.

Make the campaign score’s work like in HALO 3, and do whatever you guys want with time attack. Nobody care’s.

So what you’re saying is pretty much “screw you, speedrunners”? Scoring and Timing are two different settings with two separate leaderboards. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it has to go. Why have people become so selfish about Halo?

Is your memory that short? Do you not remember there being a time multiplier in the Halo 3 campaign scoring too? Because there was.

Yea there was totally a time component in the score on Halo 3. Someone is just whining to whine.

No. In HALO 3 the score didnt stop when you reach the time LIMIT. Im not talking about time multipliers. Learn to read and understand.
No, my memory is not short, I’m not whining and I’m not selfish.

When they made racetracks in forge

But really I don’t see much of a problem here

Of course you dont. You can’t even see the difference between CAMPAIGN and Forge.

I’m fine with the par time/par score challenges. They’re cool. I’ve never done speedruns, and this will likely make me attempt them.

However, I do agree with the OP that the two should have been separated. While I can see giving a score bonus based on time, I do not agree with cutting off the ability to increase score after a certain time has elapsed.

But it’s a minor point, IMO.

Some of these par times on Legendary look impossible to me unless you’re speed running and utilizing exploits to skip portions of the mission. That doesn’t seem like the spirit of the game.

That’s the point. The achievements were put in for the speed runners. It’s really freaking hard to do the legendary speed runs unless you’re really good at halo and pulling off the tricks. Takes a lot of practice and playing it.

Well, if they care, they enjoy it, it doesn’t interfere with how you play Halo, and it WORKS for gosh sakes WTF are you doing bringing it up? There are multiplayer lists (snipers / 2v2) I never went into more than once but I never dreamed about complaining about them. Someone else enjoyed it and it had a healthy community. Had NOTHING to do with my fun and didn’t affect me at all. So be happy if the speedrun works.
