Since when do Spartans self destruct? new link

I was playing Warzone Assault earlier today. We took the spire with some difficulty and were attempting to capture the Armory. Just as I reached Req 5 I found a fully loaded Lawgiver on the ground. I returned to the spire to equip the Upgraded shields Armor Mod and an Overshield as well to assault the Armory. Using the side entrance I blasted the first guy no problem and was in the middle of an explosion as I killed the second guy. I was trying to fire a third shot, but my gun simply wouldn’t fire. This explosion came from nowhere and totally destroyed my shields. Next thing I know, I’m gunned down by a Saw. Extremely frustrated with how things played out, I went back into theater to check out what the hell happened. I’ve included a link to the clip below. Apparently, shooting a Spartan with a shotgun point blank causes them to explode like a Rocket or grenade. Can somebody help explain what the hell happened here? This makes absolutely no sense to me. We ended up losing the match, of course.

Either this, or the person threw a grenade as they died. SPARTANs don’t self-destruct.

Thanks for trying. Running Firefox on Ubuntu. There is no obvious solution for creating a link.

Maybe he got one sword hit in on you (although his swing animation stopped well before a strike was landed) and that killed your shields, and then the SAW guy finished you off. The explosion was just you pumping the sword guy to death at point blank.
