So I was at my local Gamestop and when I went to pre-order the Limited Edition of Halo 4, the clerk said it will cost $25 to pre-order. I was like “whaa?!” Since when did it cost so much to pre-order? lol
$100 and up is $25 for pre orders
Thats very weird… It should be $5… I know when I preordered the standard edition of the game months ago I had to put a minimum of $5 down and I could add more later.
> $100 and up is $25 for pre orders
Ah, okay. I thought I was getting ripped off or something. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks.
They raised the price on Limited Edition because people would end up not having enough money and leaving it at the store for weeks.
They raised so that it people would pay more up front and hopefully they would be able to save the lower amount more easily by release day.
It’s always been anything $99.99 and up is $25 down. It’s been like this for at least 10 years now. Any regular edition will be $5 down.

Thank you very much. Making much more sense now. This is new to me because this is actually the first time I have ever pre-ordered something that was $100. lol
I don’t normally get the special editions of games, so I didn’t actually know that either. Glad I saw this thread so I’ll have enough money when I go in to pre-order. (Because I’m definitely getting the Limited Edition.)
So if i put down $25 dollars now i would pay $75 release day?

The price you pre-order goes towards the final price
$25? I thought it was $15 in the past collectors edition I pre-order has alwasy been $15.

So to clarify, nothing extra? It’s purely a downpayment?

Yea, plus tax on the $99.99. Essentially, you’re already paying off $25 dollars upfront, and the reason they want so much is because like others have said, it’s because they want a solid count of those who actually want that edition of the game and just aren’t throwing down money and keeping someone else from getting it.
But if you want, and I highly suggest doing this to anyone who has money issues, each week, go throw $5 more dollars on it until you have it paid off. It’s a real simple method and it keeps you from taking a large sum hit when you go to actually get the game. When I was younger and unemployed, this is what I did so that lunch/gas money that week/month still existed.

Oh have plenty of money I just clarifying I wasn’t paying extra and that it’s a down payment.

Exactly the pre-order you put down will counts towards to the final product.
nvm.
