SInce when can you lose your rank? Once you were a new rank you could never lose it and now you can? Is this brand new? If so all that this encourages is the dam derank again!!! SO instead of these champs using start over accounts to come down to our level and feel like their heros, now your gonna have players purposely dieing or deranking again…I swear i just need to change to another game…so broken 343!!!

I’m confused, at the beginning ranks were reset every month. Wins and losses your rank would go up and down. When did it not do that?
I think the OP is talking about dropping between tiers in ranks (ie diamond to platimum etc) which has only been introduced recently but should have been there from the start.

What about deranking from the point that you were at after your first ten games? Because that was never a thing.
Thats what i mean about it being new. In the past once you hit a rank tier you stayed in it until the season ended but now you can move between these ranks mid season.

Okay I am just wondering if that is what he meant. I have seen a few posts about this so I was thinking maybe it was about deranking from your initial rank.

The change was made recently to allow deranking between divisions. It was added to the message of the day when you boot Halo 5 (haven’t checked if it’s still there), not sure if it was announced anywhere else

So why would they allow the deranking between divisions? If your onyx then you should play onyx dont you think? This just allows deranking again and alot of players getting screwed over again like halo 3. Im just wondering why they didnt keep the monthly rotation and why they would open up deranking?

Cause onyx will move down to diamond and so on and so on… If you have to win to stay where you are then you ll see alot more booster account and alot more people with killer kds having gold accounts lol… Like i said this game is going backwards and their making this worse in my opinion. In september they switched to a 3 month rotation another wards doing seasons not monthly.

Couldn’t tell you why they made the change. Personally I’d rather they didn’t allow deranking, but I have seen quite a few people asking for to be included. I guess they can test it out and see how well it performs over all and then make a decision on keeping it or scrapping it

I’m fine with better players, I enjoy good competition and every time I get my -Yoink- handed to me there are usually a few lessons to go along. I can see where some may have “over-achieved” and played into a rank that was not quite befitting of their skill level. There are some that would be turned off by that, after all it’s not fun losing all of your matches.
I’ll be interested to see how this plays out. I personally have not run into a ton of boosters, although my Halo play time has gone down severely over the last few weeks.

This will only happen if said players lose enough games to derank. The only rank you can drop out of through not playing is champion.

Ummm no lmao thats the whole conversation. They changed it mid season and you can now derank through every level… Thats why the thread say " since when did they change it " lol…
