You act like using certain concepts other games set the foundation for is bad.
> You act like using certain concepts other games set the foundation for is bad.
You act like changing the core gameplay mechanics of what made halo popular is a good thing.
How could you possibly think that’d be a good idea?
Didn’t you see how bad Reach was.

Lets put an ACOG Scope on that Assault Lancer. lol
I don’t think we need to worry to much, I have faith in 343, considering the loss of… what was it?? Well look at the previous Halo’s, pretty sure they had around 900,000 active players from what I hear(never looked at statistics my self) and reach has about 10,000. I don’t think 343 will make that kind of a mistake like Bungie did.
That isn’t Halo.

A weapon with fancy melee animations like the lancer actually doesn’t change core game play mechanics… Its just like assassinations in Reach, a fancier way to punch people in the back, but in the end it does the same exact thing.
By the way, selling the same game every year for $60 more IS copying other games like cod, sometimes you have to change it up for the good of the series.

When did I say that? I’m just speaking from experience. Why do you think so many fighting games modeled themselves after Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat? Why do you think for the longest time FPS titles modeled themselves after Halo? Why do you think so many platformers modeled themselves after Mario? Because they all had concepts that worked and bred success.
I’m not saying make Halo 4 a Call of Duty or Gears clone, but both franchises are doing pretty well and may have some nifty things to take note of.
But hey, I liked Reach so I guess your eyes will jump to this, ignore what I wrote above and froth at the mouth with furrowed brows constantly pounded your keyboard telling me I am the cancer killing Halo.

Everyone talks about change, why can’t anyone ever think of a change that doesn’t take 3 and a half quarters of the Halo fan base away??

He is right anyway.
COD > Halo.
> A weapon with fancy melee animations like the lancer actually doesn’t change core game play mechanics… Its just like assassinations in Reach, a fancier way to punch people in the back, but in the end it does the same exact thing.
Yeah, they changed Reach and look how bad it was.
> By the way, selling the same game every year for $60 more IS copying other games like cod, sometimes you have to change it up for the good of the series.
That hasn’t even happened yet so you’re point isn’t valid.
> COD > Halo.
Anyone who says that they like Reach isn’t part of the cancer killing Halo, people who say that COD is better than Halo are.
> But hey, I liked Reach so I guess your eyes will jump to this, ignore what I wrote above and froth at the mouth with furrowed brows constantly pounded your keyboard telling me I am the cancer killing Halo.
Yeah, they will, because you Reach kids want everything changed in Halo.
If you change everything what gives Halo its own identity?
The only reasons anyone would like Reach multiplay are;
1 - You were bad at previous Halos
2 - You like the instant gratification Reach delivers
3 - You like the gimmicky gameplay of Reach

But what you are saying is halo should remain the same as it was in the first 3, which means same game, different maps.

I don’t want it the same. I want the core gameplay mechanics the same.
If you change the core of what makes halo, then it is no longer Halo.

But what your saying is to have the same halo from the first three, which again, makes my point valid.

Assuming everyone against you is a child is, well, childish.
-
When did I say change everything? Seriously, quote me.
-
Or I liked it because it was…fun to me?
4a. I killed more than I died in every past Halo game, but unless I have a 50 in Halo 3 or a 40 in Halo 2 I doubt I rank anywhere near good by your arbitrary “good-bad” ranking system.
4b. Such as? I mean, it doesn’t have the instant gratification that Call of Duty has. So elaborate on this point if you don’t mind.
4c. I like the jetpack, but the zero-bloom gametypes and the Classic playlists were still fun to me.
So honestly, what exactly are you driving at? And I must say, you sure confirmed my bet. Way to ignore everything else I said and quote the last sentence.

But adding a few new weapons, or little features from other games isn’t going to change the core mechanics of halo. Do i want create a class in halo? No. Do i want a better theater mode and more of a wide selection of weapons? Yes.
