While having bought Halo in its only available language, English, I’ve noticed there’s no info/tech support through posting threads for foreign language speakers (threads in languages other than English are considered ‘spam’). Is it wrong to assume the energy put into deleting threads could be better spent creating a place foreign language speakers could find info/tech support? I myself have no hardship with the ‘spam’ rule but being bilingual; don’t want to see anyone left out to dry while seeking answers to simple questions. Not expecting much as seeing Halo is in English, but could less constrictive ‘spam protocol’ or a small bit of effort to resolve this issue really hurt?
We lock threads that are not in english solely because we are currently not equipped to moderate in multiple languages. They have just as much of an opinion as everyone else that posts here in English which is why we highly encourage users who do not speak English as their main language to repost their thread using an online translator. We understand that it can be a hassle but until we can provide support for multiple languages this is the current scenario we have to deal with.
Yet again, I personally don’t see threads in other languages as spam, I would just ask the user to repost it in english so discussions can occur. If you have any other questions about this matter feel free to PM me and we can discuss it further.
