Do you think the halo on Xbox One will be halo 5 or halo 2: anniversary, or none of the above? I personally think it’s going to be halo 5.
Halo 2 Anniversary is probably going to release this year and Halo 5 next year.
Halo: ODST 2 please! We don’t need Halo 2 Anniversary yet, and we need a little bit mroe dev time on Halo 5. At least IMO.

But using resources to create an actual new game would detract from resources used to make Halo 5 far more than making an Anniversary Edition of Halo 2, no? Creating a sequel to ODST would be more detrimental than anything, I think.
On that note, my vote and hopes go towards Halo 2 Anniversary. I do not want Halo 5 this year, it is far too early for that. I would love to play through Halo 2 in glorious HD graphics, and if it comes with multiplayer, I would definitely be down to enjoy some of its online play again.

But would an arguably rushed Halo 5 really be a great idea? Why not take another year to make sure that Halo 5 really is as great as it can be before releasing it?

Like you touched on, who says it will be rushed? Who says it isn’t already as great as it can be?
Anyway, I just don’t think MS will herald the Halo games on their new console with something rather small and quiet like an anniversary.
I think they will herald them with a big bang, a main title.

If Halo 2A IS real, and has online matchmaking, I don’t think I’ll have any incentive to stick with Halo 5’s multiplayer if it isn’t amazing right at launch.

Halo 2 Anniversary must be released exactly 10 years after Halo 2 release, just like HCEA. Also, more time to develop = better game, so it would be better for H5 to be released in 2015
