I would like to know this as well I got the game a day early and did mission 1 which was set to legendary but since then it has always been set to Heroic and while I am not the best at playing FPS games I am finding it too easy on Heroic with 4 players and think the default should really be legendary or at least we should be able to play legendary with randoms (perhaps with a vote Heroic, Legendary or Mythic)
