It’d be lovely to have an option to only allow one of each type of armour ability per team.
NOTE: This would not be for standard playlists, or gametypes.
Do not reply with “But then people would argue over which armour ability they get” This is an option the competitive community has agreed upon as an option necessary to make armour abilities more usable in their gametypes.
If you do not care about competitive gaming, don’t feel obliged to post, as your post would add nothing to the thread. This thread is merely to bring attention to the idea, not to discuss the pros and cons.

Discussing pros and cons sounds like attention to me.

Team Classic will ideally have -no- armour abilities. Otherwise it would not be “classic”

Thanks for bumping my thread to the top, it’s hugely appreciated.

What I see : I WANT TEH ATTENTIONZZZZ
Well, how about team classic? No AA at all.
Thanks for introducing a another thread where I can increase my post count.

How about you stop stereotyping the competitive community into: "We don’t want any new features, let’s just strip it down till it’s Halo:CE.
We want new features, we just want them in a way that allows them to be competitive.

Thanks for bumping my thread again.
It goes both ways

Guess so.
Anyway, would this be in some sort of voting system? Example follows.
Option 1: Hardlight shield
Option 2: Jet pack
Option 3: Invisibility

I imagined it would be a system in which where someone chooses their class involving a jetpack, no other people could choose a class which had a jetpack.
If all of the loadouts you had classes prepared for had been taken, you’d be given a default class.
If the people all had different armor abilities, then the game is a little harder. If the people all had the same abilities, then the game is extremely predictable. Take SWAT, its quite simple to kill somebody because the players are all predictable (don’t get me wrong, I still like SWAT). All I’m saying is that it enriches, as well as makes it more challenging, the game play.

It’s also less frustrating as you wouldn’t get a circumstance where a team decides to go all camo or all jetpack.

Oh, I had a totally different concept. I figured everybody would have the same AA.

Ah yes, slight difference in wording.
“One of each type of armour ability”
“One type of armour ability.”
> It’d be lovely to have an option to only allow one of each type of armour ability per team.
So if I want Jet Pack and someone else picks it first I either a) just have to settle for something I don’t want and probably suck at using or b) quit because I didn’t get what I wanted.

If you suck at using the armour abilities or you would be willing to leave a game just to get what you want, you shouldn’t be playing competitively.
Secondly, playing with a team is recommended when playing competitively.

So, if I want Jet Pack and someone else picks it first, am I stuck with something I don’t want or am not good with? The reason I am asking is because I care about competitive gaming.
While playing with a team is recommended (as it is with every playlist and gametype, save Lone Wolf and FFA) it is not always possible. So if I can’t get a team together I can’t play?
> If you suck at using the armour abilities or you would be willing to leave a game just to get what you want, you shouldn’t be playing competitively.
Hahahaha, AA’s should not even be in a competitive environment.

Why? Is it impossible to compete with AA’s?
