Simple apology to H5 devs

In the past I’ve ranted senselessly, closed minded. I have trouble accepting new ideas, that is often in the realm of my fav fictional universes. As a fan I feel a sense of ownership, etc. But no fan has entitlement and it doesn’t negate being overly critical of others’ work.
Halo 5 wasn’t all I wanted it to be, but over time I find it solid. The game followed up nicely from H4. IGN and Game Informer have legit reviews of the game if someone who hasn’t considered H5 wants to investigate. If you’re a Halo fan don’t be afraid of evolution. Halo was built on Combat Evolved, and the combat is still evolving.
Additionally I include an example of my closed mindedness. It was the fact of Chief speaking more. At first I thought it was a bad idea. Now I appreciate it. It’s cool to hear more dialogue from my favorite fictional heroes. It fuels the narrative and keeps voice actors employed. Having a job to go to everyday benefits everybody’s health. Kudos H5 voiceover artists!
Apologies to 343i devs, Microsoft Studios, investors, contributors, etc.
Great games are signs of great people. Rock on.

No offense, but it’s hard to say Halo 5 follows up from Halo 4 nicely when it doesn’t do that. Didact got cut out, the Janus Key and Absolute Record aren’t mentioned outside of one piece of Intel, Chief doesn’t struggle with his humanity, and even Palmer’s role in Halsey losing an arm is neglected. The connection isn’t there.

None taken. Those are valid points. It would have been cool to face the resurrected Didact. He was an intense character with a short lived appearance.
I don’t know about the lore behind Halsey’s arm. I played through Osiris tonight on H5. It mentions the Storm leader having something to do with it. I figured it might be about a possible clone of Cortana, as wild as that is. Hehe. I never beat the game on legendary, but I heard something about Cortana sounding uniquely like Guilty Spark at the end. Maybe we’ll get a good chunk of fill-in-the-gaps/connect-the-dots stuff in H6 or a side story.
Valid points. Well said.
The point of my post was nothing but an appreciation whereas prior I had been exceptionally negative when the game (to me) is solid.

I’m going to have to disagree with you a bit on this one. I don’t know exactly what complaints you had and how you voiced them, but there’s a difference between not liking something because it’s different and not liking something because it has serious problems that need to be addressed.

H4 had some of the franchise’s best wtitting and worst gameplay
H5 had some of the franchise’s worst writting and best gameplay

Both have really big highs and lows, but TBH Reach was all I needed to know Bungie lost their talent and passion for gaming. You can see with Destiny exactly how Halo would have turned out- A good game that can’t get out of the corporate suckhole that is Activision. 343i make mistakes, they have to answer to -Yoink!-, but they seem care about the IP, and TBQH I secretly blame Xbone’s major failures at launch thanks to good ol Don Mattrick for H5’s poor story, as the gameplay was solid and MS desperately needed a current gen Halo, especially after MCC.

343i’s lore is way better than Bungie’s, so I think 5’s story being a mess was just MS needing a system seller. We’ll see with HW2 if the writting is any better.

About Halsey’s arm…

Palmer did it, at least was responsible anyway.
Halsey is a war criminal, in Spartan Ops Palmer was tasked with killing her.
However, Lasky disagreed with that and sent Majestic to rescue Halsey.
Jul cut her arm off to stop her from dying and prevented blood loss.
Jul saved Halsey.
