Silly/douchebaggy stances spartans make in HALO 5

Why did 343i add those silly and douchebaggy stances that the spartans make after a game?
It just looks so dumb and every time I see this http://youtu.be/KVzb6V1EyLk?t=6m40s

It makes me think that all the players behind the spartans are looking like this after the stances the they make. http://jakubmarian.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/steve_doritos.jpg

They practice those poses in War Games so that when they actually encounter the Covenant on the field they can piss them off enough for them to get distracted and make mistakes.

If that is the official explanation from 343i then I think I have lost faith in them.

It’s not. The official explanation is that they’re human and like any other sport they like celebrating after a victory.

spartan IV are more humans than II and III, they were adult marines before to enlist themselves for the spartan IV program, spartan II and III were kidnapped children, trained to fight

It looks pretty silly at first glance, but I’m sure we’ll get used to it and maybe even grow to like it(?) when we play a hundred MP matches.

I still think that well trained elite soldiers should not act that way. It will take away the professional feeling that at least I had when I was playing as a spartan soldier in previous HALO games (Not including HALO 4). Not even the marines would act that stupid (and we know there I aint the best).

The winning pose should be able to be selected, the player at the top of the scoreboards pose at the end will be selected. This would be better if we could select some non “bro” like ones. The player with the highest skill rank will have their pose selected at the start and if players have the same skill then one will randomly be selected.

If elites are playable I feel they will have awesome, honorable poses, or intimidating.

In real life, Marines, Army Rangers, and even SEALs are laid back. I’ve seen it first hand.

Besides, those spartans In-game are playing War Games after all. IIRC, most people celebrate when they win.

Yes, they can celebrate but they don’t have to look like a team of scumbag steve http://jakubmarian.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/steve_doritos.jpg

I like that silly poses

i can’t actually see any similiarity & to be honest i don’t have an issue with that, since i’ll be busy doing other things than thinking about some stances which will appear for a few seconds when the game’s over.

In reach and h4 the spartan would also do a stance when ranking up. This probably looks more like showing-off, but when I imagine my customized spartan with its unique touch showing-off, I like it.

Unfortunately, Spartan IVs are far from the badasses that were bred and designed specifically to be war machines. And thus, there is nothing interesting about Spartans now since the IVs happened.

I don’t like it either and I hope that individual players can either disable it so they don’t see it on their screen or can at least choose their “victory pose.” I’ve never been one to taunt people or celebrate too hard when I win at something (sensei would have smacked the piss out of me), so if this is going to be a thing, I’d feel better if my Spartan ignored the celebration in favor of checking his gear and popping in a fresh magazine for the next fight.

I’m already tired of seeing it and I haven’t even started the beta. I guess it shows the Spartan IVs are regular people and multiplayer is a real competition now. The animation is not going to be fun to see hundreds of times.

Guido Spartans unite!

Edit: If it’s unclear, I don’t like them either. This is actually my biggest gripe with Halo 5 at the moment

Reminds me of the Jedi. Used to be cool because of how few of them there were. Now everyone and their mom can wield a lightsaber in Star Wars.

Just loses all impact. I wish Spartan IVs could be retconned out of existence. Remember CE’s box tagline? “You are the last of your kind. Bred for combat, built for war, you are the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle and fear no enemy.” It made my teenager self feel so cool at the time.

Maybe Halo 5 will see them all get killed? Or they’ll stage a rebellion, get put down by real Spartans, and the SIV program could be shut down? We can dream, I suppose.

This is unfortunately true. I don’t longer see spartans as bad -Yoink- elite warriors. I see them (since HALO 4) as -Yoink- who got fancy schmancy armor and are trying to wave it right in your face. I just cant respect the spartans anymore. Spartans should be as disciplined as the elites are. Agent Lock seams to be a real spartan from the little I have seen of him in MCC. But I may have wrong. Only time will tell.

In fine with the celebration poses, I mean, these guys are people, and they won. If this still rums off the idea of halo 4 with the war game simulations, that’s even better because then it really looks like 2 competing teams of spartans celebrating their victory like anyone would do after them and their friends would best an opponent in friendly competition
