Silenced SMG will hide from radar

I think it as been confirmed that when you are moving you will appear on the Motion Tracker but as soon as you shoot you disappear… that’s a cool addition to the game and it make sense since the weapon have a silencer !

Can’t wait for TMCC

I’m not sure if this is correct. My guess would be if you are in a crouched position and shoot you will stay off the radar. If you are running and shooting it would make sense to still stay on the radar.

It may work like this…

Moving - On Radar
Shooting - Off Radar*
Moving and Shooting - On Radar
Crouched Moving - Off Radar
Crouched Shooting - Off Radar
Crouched Moving and Shooting - Off Radar

Edit: Honestly forgot it was a motion tracker. [facepalm]
*Probably on radar given this ^

Nop… it its almost the same but…

Moving - On Radar
Shooting - Off Radar
Moving and Shooting - OFF Radar
Crouched Moving - Off Radar
Crouched Shooting - Off Radar
Crouched Moving and Shooting - Off Radar

I think halofollower confirmed it.

That doesn’t make any sense at all. “Motion radar” implies just that, motion. Appearing on radar while firing implies that the kickback of the weapon is causing enough pulsating motions from your body to show up on radar, so a silencer won’t stop that.

Silencers in games don’t even make sense as you’re only suppressing the sound to a smaller area, you’re not actually making it more quiet. Someone across a courtyard can still easily hear it.

Its never been stated that the Silenced SMG will work that way, by any official, credible source. If Halofollower is saying it, then 99% of the time, its fake.

Not to be harsh, but that doesn’t confirm anything by a long shot. He has been incredibly wrong before and will continue to be. He is not a good source for Halo info.

Why would moving and shooting not be on radar? Why would shooting magically make yourself disappear?

In reality, it probably won’t be any different from any other weapon. No reason to make this one special.

I need a source first.

Hadn’t thought of it that way. Probably functions like any other weapon in Halo then.

I think it makes sense that if you run and shoot with a silencer it makes you disappear… You don’t make any more sound when you shoot because of the silencer

His source was apparently HaloFollower on YouTube, and unless he got hired by 343 sometime recently, I’d say that he’s still a majorly unreliable source to cite.

Spartans are equipped with Motion Trackers, which picks up anyone nearby if they’re moving (Uncrouched of course). Just because the gun isn’t giving away your position doesn’t mean the Motion Tracker can’t pick up you running and jumping around the field.

Now shooting while crouched… That’s different.

Still, HaloFollower saying it’s confirmed doesn’t make it confirmed.

> I think it makes sense that if you run and shoot with a silencer it makes you disappear… You don’t make any more sound when you shoot because of the silencer

It doesn’t matter because it’s a motion sensor. It’s not a noise sensor and it’s not a gun sensor.

If what you seem to be telling people turns out to be true, I would be very disappointed. If we wanted “silent” weapons when we run and shoot, we would just play gametypes without a motion tracker.

If you move without shooting you’re on radar… But If you’re moving and shooting and staying off radar, that’s just stupid. Better not be like that.

Absolute poppycock!

Link or it didn’t happen.

Actually it doesn’t make much sense that a silence will hide you from a motion tracker that detects near by motion.

I think them putting it in destroys the “original” feeling of H2 all together. I’m not with it. just leave the smg alone

Canon wise, that makes no sense, the motion tracker tracks motion (duh) so why should shooting a silenced weapon change that? I think the only thing that the silenced SMG will change, is being able to zoom in with this SMG instead of the other one

I’d be fine with shooting / crouchwalk shooting to not show up on motion trackers.

It’s not like this is a silenced DMR we’re talking about, I doubt it’s strong enough to harm balance at all.

Also, I think it’s safe to assume that the AR and SSMG are going to be weapons on map and therefore not show up often enough to cause problems. I expect the BR to still wreck them lol.

You are the third person in like 24 hours that has come to these forums that halofollower has led to thinking that what he said is true halofollower getting on my nerves with all these misled Halo fans.
