Signed in and immediate ban not sure why

Signed in today and I have been banned until the 15th for unsupportive play…haven’t even played in 3 days… what could have happened?

You can open a ticket to find out:
https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

A number of things I assume.
Would help to know your gamertag but as it is now with it lacking, here are a few things that could’ve caused it;
-Team killing
-idling
-quitting

Doing these in excess would result in a ban.

I have never seen someone be banned for days (almost a week) for idling or quitting, that is normally just a couple of minutes (first ban of the day) to hours (if you got multiple of those bans in a day)…

Bro I’m incognito… can’t give that information or I’d have to kill you

You have to deal with it… support won’t lift the ban, neither will they tell you what caused the ban so you could avoid it and do better next time.

If people report you, apparently 2 quits are enough. Which is kinda funny because 343 already have an automated ban system in place. But common sense isn’t their strong side as we all know… ;D

Oh I’m sure my teamates report me… I’m always getting shot by them because I don’t use a mic and usually get the most points (which makes them jealous) not boasting as I would rather be carried in a match as it’s way more fun. So they shoot me first, I then kill them twice and maybe they report me, even though they started it. It’s all good I’ll see y’all on the 15th until they ban me again. If I’m wearing my tin foil hat it’s because I said I’m still playing because I want 1000 ranked 360s and I’m at like 985… maybe they wanted me to work for it

Bring it, can you get past the environment?

So two players out of a team of four are the only ones who need to report from a single match to earn a ban after one quit?
I’d like to think it’s more complicated than that, but then again, 343…

Well there we go, there is your reason for the temp. ban then. Deliberately teamkilling is not allowed.

I got a 7 day ban after 2 quits, at least that’s what I assume. The support ain’t telling you the reason. Maybe it cumulated, I don’t know. I sinply quit games if they aren’t fun… so.

To be fair, I really didn’t care. A) the game is sich a bad state, it’s actually a relief beeing not able to play and seek for the matches that are fun. And B) you aren’t prohibited from playing anyway. The lack of a proper ranking and progression system makes it completely irrelevant on which account one is playing.

It’s weird. I got a partial ban after someone invited me to join them and I replied along the lines of - “Thanks for the invite - but I don’t think you want me on your squad - I’m getting over 200ms latency”.

I appealed and the ban was overturned the next day.

They really need to over haul the system.

If you’ve been banned for 4 days for ‘unsporting play’ then you sent abuse either via text chat or verbally to others in a game.

In future, be quiet and just leave the match.

This is not true in my case but perhaps applies to another.

Man H5 griff ball was chaos when it came to team killing. One time the other team all got banned for team killing!

Ignorant question but I keep hearing about griff ball. sounds fun but I have no idea what it is

Griff ball was essentially Halo’s version of sports.

Both teams had hammers and swords and had to grab what they called a griffball that spawned in the middle.

4v4 mode in a square arena where there’s a ball in the middle and you have to carry it to the opponents goal. Everyone gets hammers ans swords.

Yeah then they had to bring it to the enemies side. Exactly what pervadiso said.

Fun fact though Griffball wasn’t Halo’s idea it actually came from a fan made show called Red vs Blue that blue up and became really popular. In the show they decided to make a sport called Griffball named after a character in the show. (who’s name is Griff)
