(sigh) Guests...

Why exactly are guests allowed to play in every playlist except Throwdown? Should it not be the other way around. Shouldn’t they be barred from playing in every single playlist except a special playlist just for people with guests?

Don’t they throw off the matchmaking process?

For example… Just played Team Snipers with another player who had a guest. The main player went 15 kills and 12 deaths. Respectable at the least. His guest however, which I’m assuming may have been a dog stepping on the controller at convenient times, went 5 kills and 19 deaths.

3 things happen when Guests are allowed in games.

#1 A player controlling 2 in game players. I have seen this many times. Not quite sure why people think it’s a good hing to do, but they do it nonetheless. They will control their main gamertag until they die, at which point they will pick up the second controller and play the guest.

#2 The guest is very bad. 9/10, guests I’ve seen usually end up finishing a game of Halo 4 with about 4x as many deaths as they got kills. Most people would say K/D does not matter, but during a game of Halo, it does. If you died 25 times and only got 5 or fewer kills, you are one of the reasons your team lost. Again, I question how Matchmaking can adequately match a player and his guest when the game has no way of knowing that persons skill for the TrueSkill system.

#3 They quit. Not only is it bad enough when someone quits, it’s made even worse by the fact that a guest leaves with the main player. I have been in Big Team games where a player had 2 accompanying guests. He quit, taking them with him. So my team was down 3 people. Giving the enemy team the advantage of having 3 more people.

Why are guests allowed in Matchmaking exactly? I know 343 is trying to cater to everyone, but I would have to respectfully disagree with their handling of guests in Halo 4.

Why not return to Halo 3’s handling of guests and make it so that there are a set amount of playlists that guests can play and set amount where they are not allowed. With CSR kicking in, I don’t think this is to unfair of a request.

I know every Halo has allowed Guests. However, Halo 2 and Halo 3 restricted what playlists guests could partake in. I want that back. Instead of just Throwdown eing the only restricted playlist for guests.

It has always been a part of Halo. Get used to it

> It has always been a part of Halo. Get used to it

Yes, it has. However in Halo 3, there were specific playlists that supported guests. Yet, there was an entire slew of playlists where guests were not allowed. Why can we not have this again?

We need another round of Social and Ranked playlists, just like Halo 3.

But guests have been allowed in every iteration of Halo, why would you want that to change now?

ETA - We cross posted. I don’t have an answer for that but the way your OP reads is that you don’t want guests in Halo period.

I don’t really think terribly many people many people would be too thrilled with that idea. It’d really detract from some social aspects of the game. Like with Halo on the old xbox. True, it wasn’t on live then, (though third-party stuff allowed some matchmaking). It seems like removing the guest would make that game less like halo.

You forget one important detail. The horrible framerates there are.I destroy you with a pistol while you use the dmr,but if i play splitscreen, due to the horrible framerates i can’t even put my aim on you ,something 343i obviously didn’t test quite enough.I’d pick worse graphics more fun rather than good graphics bad gameplay

I don’t want it to change.

I would just like more playlists restricted from guests like Team Throwdown is.

343 are trying to cater to everyone you say?

Go check Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST and Reach. All of them allow Guests online.

Well make your OP a little clearer next time bud.

Why are complaining about guests NOT being in team throwdown if you hate them so much. Shouldn’t you be rejoicing?

I want more than just Team Throwdown. I do not like playing Throwdown because of it’s combination of playlists so I do not play it.

Sounds more like a you-problem to me. :I

At times there has been guests who are better than the players with an account.

Besides, guests have always been around in Halo and other FPS.

Why would they change it now?

It was pretty clear to me. Learn some modern English next time bud.

I play CTF with my roommate all the time now. He sucks at getting kills and dies a lot; however, he is the bravest person I have ever seen when going for the flag and often will get the top score in the game off flag caps alone.

I kinda like guests for one reason:

They make the original player look bad the majority of times.

I think a lot of the reason why guests tend to be so bad, is because it’s probably their first time playing the game. I mean, that’s how people normally get into a certain game; they’ll be over to a friends, they’ll get them to play, like it, then buy the game and play it on their own gamertag.

There’s always exceptions however. I’ve played with guests that done better than the rest of the team.

On topic please. OP edited and clarified his post after the fact.

It’s because you can’t sign in with two gamertags on one Xbox and play on Xbox live, even if both have gold. I think it’s stupid, personally. Someone always has to play as the guest.
