Now by now I’m sure that everyone and there Mother have read or at least heard of the new leaked information about Halo 4. A lot of you, in fact the majority of you are rather pissed with the direction YOU THINK the game is going, now I’m not gonna choose sides here I see both arguments equally but, we are really going over-board here. For example, I just read a post about how having permanent sprinting makes this a “CoD” clone… really? having sprinting in a First Person Shooter makes it a CoD clone? Has Call of Duty really shaped are minds that badly? What’s next! having guns in a FPS make’s it a CoD clone, your probably laughing at that now. Just wait 3 years people will start to say it.
Now just like every other Halo fan, who’s been here since 2001, I love and respect the original Halo games for what they were…but I also like innovation. Pardon the Star Trek reference here, but Halo: Reach boldly went where no Halo game had gone before, the game radically changed a working formula to see if new things could be added to make game play less “static” between titles, most of the ideas implemented were rejected by us, the community BUT some were loved and accepted. Like Forge 2.0.
We need to stop thinking about how games look more like CoD or play more like CoD and start looking at the differences. Sure halo 4 might be adding some things Call of Duty have used before, but why not? You see I will NEVER see Halo as a CoD clone no matter what 343i does to the game, want to know why? because both Bungie and 343i HAD THE COURAGE to change there game in order to take it in new directions, something Activision will NEVER do, why cause there afraid that people will stop playing there game! So I admire 343i and I admire Bungie, Halo: Reach may not have been are favorite game, but at least it was different then anything else on the market and so will Halo 4.
Oh and one last thing, for those of you out there saying “343i lied to us they haven’t changed anything!!!” look on the bright side, theres no Armour Lock this time around!
Well all I’ve heard is Sprinting, Jet Pack, Hologram and this new “fourunner vision” is in the game, I’m sure Armour Lock would have been mentioned if it was in. But just for safety, let’s prey it isn’t! xD
its not the permanant sprinting that makes it a COD clone. Its spartan points, Spartan ops, customizable loadouts, such as choosable weapons, grenades, AAs, etc.
what people are trying to say is that halo is getting rid of the original core gameplay.

What this guy said. Nobody gives a -Yoink- about sprint. It’s fine in Reach and it’ll be fine here. It’s all the other -Yoink- they’re adding, plus leaving idiotic jetpacks in too.

But are they really ruining the core game-play? For all we know Spartan Points is (hopefully) a drastically improved version of credits, which if properly used could be a very fun AND fair way to rank up and bring real meaning back to your online rank. I also don’t understand what’s wrong with Spartan Ops? So, Call of Duty makes one cool mode and no other game can have it? C’mon. Saying that is like saying Halo is a gears o war clone for using the “hoard” idea, and from what I’ve heard this Spartan Ops is a lot more in depth then any Call of Duty Spec Ops mode I’ve seen.
I will admit however you got me on the custimizable loadouts… I’m not sure I like that very much either… Will see though

Spartan Ops are nothing like CoD, just the name sounds similar. It will actually be pretty cool and fun.
Points. What else do you use? Spartan Tokens? Spartan Credits? Points is just a term.
Loadouts are in a lot of games, why must we use CoD as an example?
> COD built off in much different direction, didnt it?
Perhaps from it’s early days but look at Call of Duty between 2007 and now, there’s been 5 games all are practically carbon copies of each other. Besides a few minor additions and game modes.

exactly. additions. thats what halo needs. And they dont need to be minor. equipment werent minor. they worked well.
If 343 did additions instead of changes, so many more people would be happy.

Well judging by what you have just told me, 343i hasn’t changed very many things since Halo: Reach? Equipment got renamed “Armour Abilities” the bad ones are most likely not coming back and the good ones are staying in the game. All Spartan Points are, are Credits just with a new name. Which leaves me with just an addition, which is Spartan Ops. Which to me sounds extreamly cool!
