Hope to get a post going for folks that are impressed with halo 5 and the joy it brings you.
As a nostalgic person I loved halo, 2, and of course 3. I enjoyed 4, wasn’t disappointed just didn’t love it. Halo 5 multiplayer in particular feels like a update halo 3. I couldn’t be more impressed. 343 hit it home with me.
They improved by subtraction. All the complexity of halo 4 load outs, equipment, and perks took away from the pure competitive skill that halo 3 provided. (Of course it could be my lack of skill). None-the-less halo 5 brings back the basics. That enemy Spartan moving and thrusting around so fast is simply nothing for a well placed grenade and a headshot, on the other hand an opponent upon your back is taking care of by a simple jump backward thrust (granted you utilize your radar). Here’s the kicker. That’s it! Headshots/ grenades/radar and using the mechanics of thrust to your advantage. See simple, much like halo 3.
Anyway that’s my rant, just hate seeing the popular post being the negative ones. So let’s see what you like about halo 5.
You think it’s an up to date halo 3? That’s quite interesting, I thought more of a Halo 2 with the campaign aspect ASWELL as multiplayer, but just my opinion, but all in all 343 have done a fantastic job
I concur, I wasn’t 100% behind everything they did with this game but overall I’m very pleased! I posted a very positive thread in the Halo 5 section which, quite frankly, is overwhelmingly busy right now, I have no idea how the mods can keep up with it. I had to get out of it because there’s like 1548472356128943172 conversations going on in there where no one’s listening to anyone else, they’re just saying their own peace to say it. My positive thread already disappeared off the page but the negative ones are the ones that always keep getting bumped to the top. 
The game feels more solid or complete compared to the other games released this year, I enjoy the multiplayer and what I got to play of the campaign was great and to have it running so well at launch, yeah I give it to them, it feels like a incredible game and with this I support 343.
I disagree with almost everything you said comparing this game to Halo 3, and with your assessment of Halo 4. But I do agree that this game is nevertheless a complete home run… so far. After I see BTB and forge I’ll know for sure, but right now all signs point to a truly outstanding game.
I absolutely love this game and having played all the rest of the games in this franchise since the beginning I can say it’s definitely in the top 2 or 3 (haven’t given it enough time yet)
I was skeptical of the future after Bungie left but I thoroughly enjoyed Halo 4 and 5 is a step up from that.

I should of left my comparison out. Thinking about if this was a fresh game with no prequels.
The super quick matchmaking is truly like nothing I’ve seen before. Not many other games can you squeeze in 10 matches in an hour.
