Yes Grifball still has its great moments even in this cheap version of it but first they leave the Spartan charge, and then the melee while holding the bomb is so unreal how many times have I lunged at the ball holder just to get smacked when I’ve already slashed him and my screen shows it. Since when does the hammer have a ridiculous lunge charge while running? Then you have the cheap winners who prefer a default win by scoring and then holding the ball and throwing it out of bounds or even breaking the map and able to stay on the other side of the glass wtf am I playing?
Actually, Halo 5 Grifball feels very similar to past grifbal. imo The only issue is that you sometimes get the feedback for hitting a guy with the sword even if he wins the clash. But just know that in direct clashes when you have a sword and the other guy has a ball or hammer, don’t expect to win that clash. Pretty sure it’s been this way in the past versions as well.

This is one of the best versions of grifball imo. It’s similar to previous versions of grifball. Just has the new sp abilities.
It is very easy to get out the map. It should be fixed
Halo 5 grifball feels most like Halo 3 grifball. I can’t remember much about Reach and 4’s grifball because it was so long ago and I didn’t spend too much time in them for one reason or another.
The swinging range it good in this game. Like Halo 3, you can kill someone without your reticule turning red.
My biggest complaint, aside from people who boot after betrayals that clearly aren’t me trying to be a d***, is that lunge on the hammer that slows your swing down.
Sword doesn’t feel balanced. Bomb melee needs to be two hit. Hammer shouldn’t clash with swords.

Exactly. Hilarious that people think the bomb should be two-hit kills. The bomb carrier should have a bit higher health, move faster, jump higher/float longer, and have a one-hit weapon like the other weapons in the gametype. Logic literally doesn’t make sense, as if the bomb was two-hit, you’d be dead before you killed anyone.
I’d recommend making the health a bit higher on the carriers from the limited time I’ve played.
It’s different, that’s what I’ll say. But seriously though, halo is not the same game it was during reach. Whether or not we are pleased with it, the game is definitely changing.

People will always suggest someone complaining isn’t good. Regardless, I did the hammer shouldn’t have a lunge when your sprinting towards an enemy it’s a hammer not a sword we have a sword for that. Head on clashes against the bomb carrier should stay the same, unless a hammer is involved. There have been countless times the past two days where I hammer the bomb carrier dead on and a puny melee manages to get through and kill me and the hammer strike disappears. The game type is buggy and it’s garbage. There’s no point in having the sword of the hammer has its own lunge now and the shoulder charge might as well be your sword lunge because the range on it is ridiculous to begin with.

Now all that I agree with. While the gametype is extremely inconsistent now, it will no doubt be updated soon. The hammer lunge will probably be disabled, shields (like in H4’s Grif) will probably be taken off, and a number of other problems ranging the map glitches to Spartan Charge will be solved.
Hang in there man, our beloved Grifball will soon return to a better state.

It could use some fixes. One I would like to se fixed is that I would like for a Spartan Charge to ring up as Spartan Charge! I rarely Spartan Charge in matches, but I tried to do it in Grifball so that I could finish out that stupid Commendation, and no matter how many times you do it, it always registers as a simple Melee kill. It drives me nuts, because in a game like Grifball, the Spartan Charge is something that seems like it would fit right in.
WTH?? Dude this is one of the best grifballs i’ve ever played. I agree the ball carrier hit should be nerfed to a regular melee, but with one shot kill.
This grifball has added multiple variables that increased the skill ceiling and competitiveness. The ball carrier melees has always been a part of it so I don’t know what you’re talking about OP…
