I just want to give a shoutout to 343 for their continual commitment to free DLC. I’m not really the biggest 343 fan and I still think they robbed us plenty in Halo 4 and Halo 5’s campaign, but how they’re handling the DLC’s is very refreshing. Yes, they are still making money from micro-transactions, but at least they’re not required to gain the full experience a game offers.
I hope 343 follows this same path for their future titles, as it doesn’t divide the community in respect to who can play what. If big name developers make games with free DLC (Rockstar with GTA V and 343 with Halo 5), I believe this will begin to sway other big name developers into following the same path, as long as we support these games, and end this DLC epidemic. We never had this problem in the 90’s and early 00’s folks, so let’s show our support to the guys who are doing the community justice.
Yeah we all love getting old game types months after release… Good job 343, for giving is what we already had at launch in past Halo titles months after the game is launched… Keep up the great work… Keep giving us armour we can’t work for but randomly unlock through the microstransactions… Keep up with the down grading of this once amazing franchise… Keep removing key features everyone loved like playable elites and split screen… At least what Rockstar releases for gta v isn’t actually cut content from the game but something entirely new and different which we haven’t seen in past gta games

I hear ya, and I agree they gave an unfinished game up till the last DLC released. But what I’m saying is they had the option to now release paid DLC but it looks like its still free. As for the features they’ve removed from past titles, I’m totally with you on that. They got a lot of things wrong and I still hope Bungie comes up and says this was all a prank, but I gotta commend them on this one thing for the sake of fixing other AAA titles, not just Halo

Well, File Browser is only just now being added, not to mention all the game modes that are still missing.

It’s fine and dandy that’s it’s free, that’s fine and is indeed better than paying. But even free -Yoink- is still -Yoink- in the end of it was in previous games and is delayed. We’re still missing stuff now (10 months later). Many games would get praise if they had free dlc or whatever but there’s always s catch to it. With 353, it’s delayed/cut content, with bungie, it’s not enough to last till the next content drops. So sure, gg 343 on making it free, but bad job on it being stuff that we’re already accustomed to while also forcing reqs out faster than actual content.

I agree it’d be totally unreasonable for them to make us pay for the dlc, I just wanted to say that it’s not really new content half the time, old armour, weapons, maps (although thats not such a bad thing, as well as game modes. All the new new stuff isn’t that great imo, the maps, the skins, the armour, it’s just really meh. Glad you acknowledge the flaws though, congrats for having a realistic opinion unlike some blind followers and haters alike. More people need to be realistic, I’m not saying it’s the worst game ever, just the worst Halo game ever imo. Halo 4 had that title for a while but then i warmed to it after a while. I think halo 5 is gonna take a bit longer for me to warm to. They need to make more effort to gain my respect back. Fix the problems, talk to the community and just work with us to make a Halo game we all want.

First thing I always look at for any Halo title is the campaign. After halo 4 my hopes were very low…and they still somehow tanked even more by removing the Chief himself from his own game. Even though they may not have lived up to the previous games expectations in terms of what they brought to the table in multiplayer, I still acknowledge the new things that they have brought in. Don’t get me wrong though, I got the game on launch, but didn’t play it till 6 months after release because of how bare bones it was. I guess my biggest reason for appreciating what they’re doing is being tired of paying $110 for every game out there…except Battlefield 1. They deserve every cent lol
EA and dice overhauled Battelfields UI system (yeh the whole thing) over 2 years after launch. I highly doubt 343 would keep that level of support to halo 5. Also, Battlefield makes no where near the amount of $$$ in terms of Microtransactions, so 343 could do far better if they wanted to. They still haven’t finished the game.
It really saddens me how negative the community is towards 343i. You can tell by the lack of comments in this thread. And the threads that always tend to have a lot more comments in them are the ones that always have something negative to say about the game, or complaining etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a huge fan of 343 myself I’m more of a Bungie era-fan myself but that won’t stop me from enjoying the game.
But yes, I’m grateful for the continual content they’ve given us. And I thoroughly enjoy them.
But what I really wish they would focus on is bug fixes, cheating players, etc. Theater, Warzone, Warzone Fire Fight, Audio fails, etc.

Uhhhhhhh Warzone and Warzone Assault trumps any past BS that Bungue did, I don’t understand your point. Some of the old went out for new stuff.
Free DLC is great. I love how you just get them. Black Ops three is so maddening. You have to pay for the maps. Who needs that crap? This is just more proof that COD is dying. They are trying to earn as much money as possible on the way out.
