I saw a lot of shade in the Twitch chat this weekend being thrown at the presenters so I wanted make sure someone thanked them somewhere on the internet for how hard they must have been working. Ad-libbing for hours at a time, off of the same feed we were watching, in a new game, with D/Cs, with unseasoned announcers, for days. That is not easy, not something you can just do, and the presenters all handled the gig like pros. It must have been a nightmare behind the scenes. There are dozens of people who made that event run that we’ll never know about; they busted their -Yoink!- all weekend too, and are probably still tearing down and cleaning up as I type this. The techies and PAs and stage managers deserve just as much credit.
I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t forget how much it takes to put on something like HCS, and try to support our game and our community in a positive way.
