Shouldn't the oni mantis fire exploding rounds?

The oni warthog does so why doesn’t the oni mantis?

I’ve wondered this myself. It seems less useful than a Warthog turret due to the spread.

Warzone doesn’t really have balance

The scales of Warzone need to be easily influenced.

Exactly especially since its a high level req. Oni hog is only a level 3 req

mantisse are very underpowered anyways, an oni chaingun wouldn’t really change that much

I’m pretty sure every turret made by ONI has explosive bullets so it doesn’t make sense if the mantis doesn’t.

ONI Scorpion doesn’t have explosive rounds on its MG either.

Maybe be a bit OP because it’s a tank, but I say if it says “ONI” and spits lead, that lead better be exploding on contact.

I always thought it did for some reason, until today when I pulled one. HANNIBAL FOR THE WIN!

But seriously, why don’t they, it’s almost silly they don’t. Don’t get me wrong, rocket lock is nice but the range isn’t enough to compensate the poor chain-gun.

It should have explosive rounds, and also be more accurate with the chain gun than a standard. Not to make it OP but because all of the mantis guns have the spread of an SMG, which is just not OK for a level 6 req. With how easy they are to destroy there needs to be armament improvements. There’s no reason I should regularly get more kills with an oni hog than a mantis.

I’ve wondered this too. The ONI Mantis should have explosive bullets. It’d make it an even bigger threat and it would be equal to the Hannibal Mantis. The main difference between the two is that the ONI Mantis’s bullets don’t really have a kick to them while the Hannibal Mantis’s Gauss/Railgun rounds do. Not to mention that the Hannibal Mantis’s Ion Rockets are faster than Usain Bolt on crack.

Actually, considering the spread and time to overheat, I believe all models should have the explosive rounds. Explosive rounds can do that extra bit of damage against vehicles that the Mantis just isn’t doing if not an ONI (Hannibal is a class unto its own :), and slow/stop sprinters. ONI’s tracking rockets are excellent with the harassing machine gun BUT, that machine just sucks.

That, and/or, reduce the spread of both the Rocket ‘Hog and Mantis’ rockets.

No, they’re not useless, but they really make one try too hard compared to other vehicles for similar results.

I’d love the Oni Mantis to have explosive rounds! It kinds sucks as it is tbh, way too easy to get boarded. The rockets lock on, but take too long to cool down afterwards. And all your left with is a pea shooter of a gun while your waiting for your next burst of rockets.

It is already pretty awesome. There isn’t any need for it. The mantis group as a whole needs a buff to the stomp AOE though.
