I dont really understand the rational behind slight of hand, marathon (infinite sprint), expanded radar, moving fast with turrets, carrying 3 nades off spawn, and carrying 2 primaries in a loadout to be choices? Instead they seem like things that if added by default, would have made H4 very loyal to Halo’s of old, but VERY unique in terms of gameplay, thus not a Halo [insert number].5
1)spartans should have fast reloads as it is. Also fast reloads just speeds up the game so why didnt they just not add this perk and instead just make reloads much faster in halo?
2)343 has said repeatedly they are trying to make us feel like spartans, so why cant we sprint all the time just by default? The maps are already being way stretched out just to fit it in the first place and sprint has been nerfed to slow down when shot so I dont see the harm.
3)radar is radar and has been default from day 1 in CE, why give others a silly advantage when all could just as easily have a larger radius radar.

In every game with walking with turrets they have been all but useless, just the other day me an an opponent got into a warthog length distance spray fight AR vs turret and turret lost. It was ridiculous. Why not make it so spartans in their super power suits just move normally with a turret by default?

3 nades off spawn? LOL Halo CE and 2 had 4 off spawn and the ability to pick up 8 nades. Why all this grenade famine? Is the UNSC running out of money lol? All less nades by default means in that campers can camp easier since they cant be flushed out. We have rid ourselves of the hiroshima bombs of reach so why not back to basics or atleast a nice mid ground of simply 3 of each grenade type, excluding maybe the forunner nade. It just seems pointless to have it be a perk to carry 1 measly grenade when in CE and 2 you could have 8 and start with 4.
6)So now we cant have a BR AR starts without a perk? CE-reach ALL had virtually as default AR(or its reskinned dual clone SMG)and powerful primary precision weapon.
Why all of a sudden the need for a perk to do what was previously the game standard? It just seems pointless. WHy not just make the magnum, PP, and bolt shot non toss away weapons on par in usefulness with other weapons?
Overall I just dont get the reasoning for doing any of these. H4 seems like it could have been its own game, differnt from past halos but still loyal to the franchise. Most of these seem like things that should have just been standard for ALL players. I dont enjoy screaming that things were done cuz of X game, but with these decisions…it just seems fishy

there will be some perks given to us without the need of purchase. I like the perk system and i like most of the perks 343i came up with, while there are several copies from CoD there are also some orignals. In the end it just adds a different kind of advantage in different situations. Its their take on the system anyway
I dont understand why a spartan would need these either. They should be standard for the most part. I’m generally extremely excited for halo 4 and I like most of the changes but perks are uberlame.

Since 343 wanted to implement the mod system, making these alterations across the board would eliminate the need for that system. Also, accuracy to canon and lore =/= good decisions for Multiplayer.
The direction 343 decided Halo 4 was going.

Do what? That was never the standard. That “perk” allows you to select two primaries for a loadout. You never spawned with those two weapons in past Halos unless the playlist called for it. If you find one of them on the map somewhere, guess what, you can still pick it up! Get your facts straight before making a fool out of yourself.

umm human starts were pretty much universal in CE
H2 for the most part switched to BR SMG after all the complaints about SMG starts
H3- BR starts were VERY VERY common in TS and standard in BTB
ODST- SMG and pistol the ODST equivelent of BR/AR were standard in firefight
REACH - DMR/AR VERY common in TS, standard in ARENA
Point is Precision weapon w/ automatic weapon were all over the place in ast halos with very few exceptions. Dont you remember everyone screaming VETO for BRs damn near every match? LOL
I was going to make a well informed post about realism and even playing fields at start and so on. But then I read your OP and your tone in responses and realized there’s no use. Just find a -Yoink!- AR or whatever else on map and pick the -Yoink!- thing up.

Your a spartan 4 the UNSC new advanced spartans who are way better than the last bunch except you can’t pick up ammo grenades or hold two weapons.

I do kinda agree with the OP in that I feel like all the pistols will kinda just be there… Or the magnum, at least. Seems like it don’t match up to the other two secondaries.

^He’s got a point. And come on with the specializations bs, dude. We all know what they are. It would be like if they announced their kill cams aren’t called kill cams, that they’re called after death murder cams. Would anyone really go “oh man! When Halo has ADS and split second killtimes you can talk. How about when they take out vehicles or have a pointless campaign with a flimsy story attached on somewhere.
