As far as we know: Warzone Firefight might be the last update for Halo 5: Guardians (I could be entirely wrong) and obviously we’re gonna get new REQs such as Armor, Helmets, Visors (?), Weapons, Emblems, Skins, etc. But an idea came to me.
What if we could have Shoulder Customization in this Update?
In the the Hammer Storm Update (I think) we had more color options and we could customize our Emblems (somewhat). But what if we had Shoulder Customization we could make our Spartans a bit more unique and diverse, as someone pointed out (I sadly can’t remember who so my apologies) that since the Armor Customization in Halo 5 is limited to Helmet, Armor and Visor, we could at random chance meet a player who’ll have the exact same Helmet, Armor and Visor as your Spartan.
Here’s an example:
Helmet: CIO
Right Shoulder: Wrath
Left Shoulder: Recruit
Armor: Warrior
Visor: Flood
I hope to get a response from 343 regarding this Idea.
P.S: I would also like a Skull wearing a Cowboy Hat emblem!
(Sorry for any mistakes, this is my first ever forum. ._.)
Honestly, if they put in shoulder customization, it would be fixed shoulders. Like you wouldn’t be able to mix and match them(which I think is great since the armors don’t work well mixed).
Also, we should be getting more updates after Firefight. O’Connor said that as long as we buy REQs, they’ll continue to make “free dlc”.

You are entirely wrong. Support is not ending this month. That being said, I would love to see not just shoulder customization, but full armour customization come in at some point.

I’d be more than ok with waist customization. Having a space diaper on Noble armour would be great!
Reach has it for the customization, but we’d have to see less armor for Halo 5 in order to happen. I think that when you unlock an armor/helmet, you should also unlock it’s variant and those should be place under.
I would love shoulder customization in halo 5 but with the way the req system is, it wont happen, at least not in 5. The shoulders are paired with the chest and legs in a collective set (in basically a card system) making things interchangeable between cards wont work. Now in Halo 6 what they should do if the want the req system back is make every piece its own card and increase the amount you get per pack. It still bloats the req system but at least we would get more depth in the customization system.

ya they stated stuff will continue to be released, this was just the end of the set plan for now, I would expect us to learn more at E3

You may not, but a lot of people do. I know that I always look at everybody’s armour, and love to see what people are wearing.
It’s not just a matter of how others see us in game. It’s how we see and express ourselves as individuals. I would love to see more in depth customization options again. It seems to me that 343 took a step backwards with customization in Halo 5. And I’m sure implementing the REQ system had a big part in their decision to simplify it.

It’s just different people. Some people are huge into aesthetic, and others are only into Gameplay. As an artist, I love customization and any option to increase my control over how my charachter looks is greatly welcome. Different people.
