Shoulder Charge Question

Just a quick question as I can’t seem to find my answer. While playing Arena I’ve been shoulder charged and I die instantly, despite the fact my shields are at full. This also happens in Warzone, but I shrug that off due to the weaponry and armor abilities that can make melee one hit.

Now, this happens more often then not while I play Arena, but when I shoulder charge it seems to just act like a melee and take down the shields, So is there an angle you can shoulder charge an enemy facing you and it leads to an insta-kill? or am I just going crazy here.

I think the only way it could kill you instantly head on is if your shields are weakened, I know a hit from behind is like a beatdown. Though I might be wrong with that.

See that’s where i’m confused. Because quiet literally every experience I have regarding Shoulder Charge in Arena, my shields were full.

I’ve killed enemies w/ shoulder charge and full shields ONLY when they weren’t facing me.

Could it be down to how far away you are when you charge.

I’m sometimes charge too early (more likely most of the time), but still hit the target, but the player still lives (which is sort of expected).

Shoulder charge is one of the few things I dislike about halo 5 imo.

It’s maybe down to timing, if they hit thrust at the right moment and hit you at maximum speed then you are more likely to be killed !
Times I misjudge it and either flown pass them or worse still tapped them only for them to blast me to hell :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah i have been killed head on with one charge a few times, full shields every time cause i get pretty mad at that ability.

There is a armor mod in Warzone that makes Spartan charge stronger and able to go longer distances, but it still isn’t a 1hit kill.

I have a similar thing with the bayonet in warzone sometimes it’s a face to face one hit other times is not. Are there added variables in h5 that effect melee?
