Should we have the old Warthog back?

What truly bothered me in Halo 4 was the redesigned warthog.

They removed the iconic suspension that centers at the middle of the car and went for an ordinary one that’s attached to the front axis instead.

Note the gap between the wheel and the front

No more gap.

Same goes for the rear wheels. It’s pointless and removed the iconic look of the Warthog. Now it’s just like any other car. Same goes for the sound. While the Warthog in Halo 1-3 sounds absolutely unique it’s pretty forgettable in Halo 4

Going by the Warzone footage we have seen from Halo 5 the Warthog will stay this way which would be pretty disappointing to me.

I played the Warthog playlist in MCC and got to drive all the iterations and for me, the Halo 4 one sounded the best; it’s a tie between Halo:CE and Halo 4 for looks. Just personal opinion

I doubt it will return. 343I don’t seem to have much of a reputation for respecting the original source material which is why many of the classic designs keep changing. Halo 4’s was the worst Warthog, from what I’ve seen it looks like H5 is making the same mistakes with the warthog.

Oh please spare me. They’re the only company actually incorporating the original universe and book materials into the game. You wouldn’t have blue team if you didn’t have 343i.

If they were just going to keep everything exactly the same, then why bother? Just give Halo to Infinity Ward and let them pump out the same game with the same art assets every year.

The old one looks rugged and tough the new one almost most looks sporty.

With skins in warzone maybe there are “classic” skins for guns and vehicles.

I love the new Warthog as much as the old one. While the original Warthog has the sci-fi look and feel to it, the new one is fresh and new, while still retaining the important elements of the classic design.

I’m glad that 343i is slowly refreshing the designs. After all, Halo’s been around for almost 15 years now. If we still had everything look exactly like it did in 2001, it would get old and uninteresting. Seeing the revamped Covenant vehicles, for example, gives Halo the new visual touch it needs.

There’s a difference?

I always used to use the warthogs with my buddies, but the one in Halo 4 was awful. Sound weird and drives really bad

I wish I could like your post 1000 times. I will have to settle for clicking like and unlike 1000 times and pretend I liked it more. You won the interwebs today while summarizing my thoughts more eloquently than I could.

Things change, suspension systems change, get over it. Considering the time that has passed from CE to H4, it makes sense that the Warthog would go through changes. Especially since the Covenant war is over. The suspension system isn’t iconic it was just designed for a console with terrible graphics processing software. They had to make it look like that if they wanted anyone to even notice it. Just because something is in an older game doesn’t make it iconic.

It actually handled better than any other game in my opinion, it was just far too easy to flip and destroy. If they make it more sturdy in H5 but keep the handling the way it was, I will be happy about it.

This right here. 343i is trying to revamp some things as the time has moved forward and things get updated/change with time. There is nothing wrong with the warthog

You’re right, without that gap, it looks just like any other car. It looks nothing like a Warthog in Halo 4. As we know, that gap is what makes the design so iconic; honestly, when I saw the Halo 4 Warthog, I thought it was a Ford.

I actually really like the design of the Halo 4 warthog.

“Just because something is in an older game doesn’t make it iconic.”

Huh?

Huh? It handled better but far to easy to flip and destroy… Come on you are just typing things to type for argument sake…?

If it handled so much better why was it easier to flip… It sounded like a lawnmower and drove like one too…

Actually you can’t say that we wouldn’t have Blue Team if Bungie or a other company was it. That is playing the “What if” game. Your just assuming things there, just saying.

I have to agree that Halo 4’s warthog sounded like a lawnmower. It’s definitely the worst change to it.

I believe the warthog was redesigned by Turn 10, so I don’t care. But the sound is lame. I hope they will change it to classic sound.

Yeah, remember when 343 made Halo: Reach and disrespected the original book…

Wait a minute…
