I understand that there is a lot of work being done on The MCC. However, that does not involve all of 343 Industries. 343 have also stated that Infinite, which has been in the works now for around five years, will be a spiritual reboot and what they have in store for the July event is expected to please fans. It is well known that the X-box first-party games will be revealed in July, but since Halo: infinite will be an Xbox- Series X launch title, should we get information a little bit early? There has been an obvious content drought, and I find it odd that there has been so little announced up until now. The marketing for Infinite appears to be the polar opposite of Halo: 5. For a while, I was happy about this. The lack of information only built up the mystery that the Discover Hope trailer established. But because the game is set to be released this year, I personally am a little worried.
Due to all of the traction that the MCC has been getting with its PC transfer, along with Halo: 3 flighting kicking off, an Infinite drop could be a welcome surprise. I don’t think we should get anything crazy like gameplay reveal, but what could work is a blog post or short video. A small piece about the ‘road to Infinite’, ending with two screenshots from the campaign or multiplayer could ignite a spark in the community (and definitely provoke discussion and a surge in content creation). Maybe even a tease of the core weapon sandbox, returning weapons.
A Vidoc documentary series of the making of Halo Infinite the day of the scheduled release of the gameplay trailer or right after would be the way to go. Similar to the Brute Vidoc done for Halo 3 and the making of Halo 2 released by Bungie on the limited edition of that game 343 employees should detail the step by step process of everything that went into making Halo Infinite.
Yes, 343 has been very quiet about the details of this game. I believe we should have received details about this game many months ago, to allow time for change in case the community does not like it.

I agree, but having anything this coming month (June) would really help the community. It could literally just be a screenshot.
I’m looking at the want for more info a little more deeply, and I can’t help but conclude there’s no “right” for us hardcore fans to have any claim on more info. Yes we can have our opinion on whether or not this conduct by the devs/publisher is desirable or not. But, you know… What are we gonna do about it?
I’m cool with waiting for July. My only problem is that we don’t know what direction infinite is headed. If we get another Reach, H4, or H5 I think it’s safe to say Halo will never be as popular as it once was.

What does that statement have to do with the topic of the thread ? On topic, I don’t think we’ll get info on Halo Infinite before July, but it would be nice to be proven wrong.
We are going to get some Halo Infinite news on July 2020. I think we will get a five or ten minutes of gameplay footage from Halo Infinite campaign levels and multiplayer levels.
If I was in charge of Halo Infinite marketing, I’d get a single screenshot of only the Assault Rifle on the ground with a shadow of the Master Chief on the ground near it, up on social media about a week before the Xbox event, and do nothing else until the proper reveal event. That little appetizer would be enough to spark more interest in Halo throughout the gaming community in general, not too long before the July event. Due to it being the only info on Halo in about a year, entire articles would be made about it and the Xbox event. Fans would be getting something to hype them up, it would bring Halo back to the spotlight, and it would further promote the event. One screenshot could do all that. Timing is the only thing you would have to be careful about. Show the screenshot too early, and the general public will lose interest. Too late, and it might as well have not been uploaded because the general public may not notice the article before the event starts. We have to remember that the game has to be noticed by the general public too, and their attention span would forget the picture/reminder if it was uploaded a month before the event.
I don’t think so, it’s a new console generators room and Halo is Xbox’s big gun against competitors.
They’re playing the cards close to their chest.
Information will come soon. July isn’t too far away.
On a side note; the marketing campaign may have begun already with the release of the “ONI Archives”. Near the end of each video something is happening, similar to “Hunt The Truth” leading up to H5.
And then there’s the hidden audio within the Infinite Trailer, there is information out there, just tiny bits and pieces we have to work off of

I totally agree. The timing is definitely something I didn’t take into account while making my post initially. It definitely would not take a lot of info to get people intrigued. A screenshot would be good enough, I agree.
Regarding fears of infinite getting too little airtime in the july event because of the other games needing screentime as well, What about allowing HCS Grassroots streamers to stream a limited version of the game for like 24 hours after the event ?
Or maybe some flighting could be open to everybody directly, I mean it has to happen at some time right?
By announcing July as ‘the’ event… it pretty much closes the loop on anything else before then.
Which is ok. Given the pressures 343 must be under… we should be grateful that the game is even still on track for release.
But yes, once it has been unveiled there should be lots of stuff coming afterwards; interviews, magazine pieces, vid docs, etc.
I’m still hopeful that the system unveiling may show some bits. A formal hardware unveiling without any software would be a little shallow. And they may use Slipspace to show off the new hardware… in which case we may get thrown an infinite bone or two.

I don’t think screenshots are the answer or good enough. A short clip with classic sound like Starry Night or the Believe video have far more impact and hit the nostalgia button in us better than any screenshot imo. Music is probably more important than any visual, or at the very least equally important.
Should we? I think the answer we want isn’t part of the bigger plan. The bigger plan is MS continuing to build up Series X hype and making sure their first party games get all of the spotlight. That’s why MS doesn’t seem too worried about not having to share E3 with Sony this year. Why we had the mediocre third party showing separate from the July event. That’s why MS is waiting for Sony to show off their games before they pull the lid of the can of Xbox exclusives. That’s why we’re getting classic Halo on PC to feed our nostalgia and hunger for Infinite.
Lets be honest: getting info now or in a month and a half is not going to make that much of a difference to us, other that making us more hungry for info. MS is betting on showing Infinite, a new Forza, probably a new Fable and a bunch of other stuff we don’t know to be shown at once and blow away the mainstream gamer who isn’t sure to buy a Series X. We Halo fans will buy the X just for Halo so marketingwise we’re not that interesting in the grand scheme of things.
I’m fine with that. Especially considering the work 343i is now doing from home. I’d rather not have them experience intense crunches just because we want a trailer…

I was responding to an earlier post on this thread.
