its also true.
but some old halo multiplayer maps have a good reputation for some game type’s.
for exemple:
back in halo 4 the maps: Vortex,Longbow,Ragnarok and Meltdown have some type of good reputation in the slayer game type to make creat a warzone on that type maps always.
when other have a good reputation for other game type’s like infection game type.
then you have more the halo reach maps are good there for.
sure only remake’s are not good also something compleet new you need but its a 10 year game so to have some old remake’s for the right playlist is always good.
a lot off classic maps are not going to work in halo infinite since some of then are small and then you need to remove the equipment from the playlist more since a Grappleshot on guardian map is not going to work.
Do remakes really take as much time and money to make? I have doubts. I mean, yeah, they’d likely have to do a lot of the work over again, but the whole map design aspect is already done for you. That’s not nothing is it?
Also, people like Infinite and they like Classic maps. Going back and playing them in an older game won’t exactly scratch the itch of wanting to play then in Infinite.
They wouldn’t play the same, and I agree equipment probably wouldn’t have as much a place in smaller ones, but I personally would like to play a map like Guardian in Infinite. Doesn’t mean I ever will, but I would like to.
Also, some might be interesting with the equipment. Swordbase with grappleshots might be interesting
in swordbase you play inside a building so its diffrend then playing in a jungle where you can easy fall from the map with things like that.
but what more real chance is that if infections is comming back and maybe without equipment then you have a good map for that more with some twist’s here and there.
but with the equipment you need to look more from the old halo series’s BTB maps that are large.
Make it a special playlist of its own. I’m fine with then remaking all the maps they want, but I’d like all of that to have its own playlist. Our new maps should be on one side, old maps on the other and especially if any of them are intended for ranked. Make it a throwback like how h5 did the throwback playlists, and then it’s possible to have some equipment return for THOSE maps in that specific playlist where we know they’ve stood the test of time.
Not if they are done right… For example truth and regret from H5 we’re great remakes of mid ship… Then they had that awesome map called Torque…then it’s remake which was practically the same except nothing moved and was covered with snow…not a good remake.
Dude how can you write great H4 BTB maps and not include Exile? That map alone carried H4 BTB for months until Ragnarok and Longbow showed up in map packs (if longbow is the map I’m thinking of)
Edit: This came out more aggressive than I meant. I meant it in a friendly way
I like map remakes…but not in FORGE. Give me an actual map remake and not be lazy and rely on the community with limited tools to remake a map and put it in heavy rotation such as in previous halos lol.
343 had 6 years and made only 3 maps (at least that’s all I get in MM) lol.
Just give us some classic remakes and it’d make the experience 10x better.
I won’t go into the whole AR/Sidekick/BR issue of balancing lol.
