Does anyone remember the good old days when you needed skill to unlock a set of armor? Even in Halo 4’s multiplayer there was effort required to get awesome looking armor types like fotus. Now, if I see an awesome helmet or body armor, the only two things we can see in game without checking profiles (which in itself is disappointing) I don’t admire that player for their skills anymore. I can only assume they grinded their way to a few silver or gold packs and got lucky, bought a few silver or gold packs and got lucky or maybe they were an actually skilled player who spent time and effort, winning games or trying to win games, to then buy a few silver or gold packs and get lucky. This isn’t a fair system. It’s exactly what I despise most about destiny. You could be the worst player in the world and get carried through a few matches by good players on warzone, then buy a gold pack and score a Helljumper helm. I’m happy if you want to try and persuade me to like it, please do! But if you’re with me in saying I want recognition for my actions in my armor, vote and let 343 know that we’re unhappy with their latest scheme. I’ve earned my Helioskrill and want to earn my other armors. For the record, I love halo 5, I think it’s great and the cards for banshees and scorpions don’t bother me that much and it’s fun to get weapons but it’s more fun to earn my Spartan epic armor.
but dreadcore you have to earn those points so that you can get the armour but you may be right about it i is all based on opineon and i think we should make it so you earn some armour were as you get other
I already said, what if you’re carried through a few warzone games without getting many kills at all, totally undeserving of a rare armor piece, getting an armor piece of rare class. If you were to complete a challenge to earn enough REQ points to buy a specific armor piece and are of the level required for purchase it, that is hard earned like in Reach. Not this current system.
It’s certainly easier to obtain the armor pieces via REQ packs but I’m a lot like the OP. I used to nerd out seeing someone with a helmet that was only obtained through a specific game mode or beating the game on legendary. The way you get gear now reminds me too much of Destiny and its RNG loot system.
I agree with keeping the cards in packs, but agree with needing to earn some armor. Atleast make a few good armor choices for people to earn. Same goes with the customized weapons. You should be able to get some in reqs and others for things like mastering a certain weapon. I guess that would be taking a page out of every other modern shooter, but anything is better than rng bs.
you do realise i meant that we should make it so only commons and some uncommons and 2 rare and 1 legendary are available so then you have a rearer chance of getting what you want

Exactly, why not give us Legendary armors for achieving obsidian tier in a certain game mode. Make it more worth while!
I think that most of the armor should be unlocked by earning certain achievements like it was in Halo 3. Of course I understand that they have around 170 pieces of armor, but that doesn’t mean all of the armor should require REQ packs to unlock. Like a cool piece of armor should be unlocked by say completing the campaign on legendary or something. The only armor that should be in REQ packs are the ones that are common or just plain look dumb. That goes for all cosmetic items not just armor. I like the REQ system honestly, but don’t add cosmetic items to it. I’ve literally just been selling all of my other cards so I can earn REQ points so I can purchase a silver or gold pack for armor. I think it’s really tedious.
I do mean it for all cosmetics. Armor is just the most visible example. Anyone seeing this please give an opinion and vote, if we get enough people to catch 343’s attention then we have a better chance of changing things.
