Should warzone return if so what should happen to req system
Nope.
Warfare please. A straight forward objective based larger scale Btb with AI and squads.
No. Instead of Warzone, 343 should focus their efforts on BTB. Warzone’s main draw is that it’s pretty much the only place in Halo 5 where you can have large-scale battles with all kinds of heavy weapons and vehicles on large, open maps. But that could easily be attained with BTB Heavies, which has the added advantage of equal starts and not being unfriendly to new players. It was very sad to see so many aspects of Halo 5, particularly BTB, neglected so much in favor of Warzone and the req system, and I don’t want to see that happen again.
I say remove the req system entirely and bring back Firefight, an evolved form of Reach’s FF, which was an evolution of ODST’s FF.
I just want a improved firefight. Please and thank you.
I did not enjoy Warzone. Feels like an instance of feature-creep. The match also drags on like a stalemate at a bottleneck (Battlefield Metro).
I support the argument that the effort should be invested in Big Team Battle at launch instead.
Also, Firefight should be kept as the staple co-operative mode. Don’t design the campaign for 4-players, duos are fine enough. Let people customise their own 4-player Firefight instead. You’ll be investing in AI improvements, which you could also implement in singleplayer/co-op Forge modes (there it is, I’ll never shut up about it).
I’d rather opt for a BTB on steroids. Either that or keep the format of WZ in terms of capturing bases, destroying core, killing AI bosses but just ditch the current req system.
No.
Neat concept and fun to try but the req system just wasn’t right. It felt wildly unbalanced more often than not.
A revised Big Team Battle would be my preference.
No
Like everyone said, we should replace it with BTB Heavies or a revamped version of Firefight.
No.
At least not in a way it was in h5.
i like the idead of AI running around the map as kind of a third faction, but in h5 it was tied very heavy to a RNG lootbox system you need to spend money on or face a horrible long grind (and the grind is long, bc they want you to spend money. never let yourself be tricked and believe other excuses)
also firefight was only introduced to sell more reqs, using a beloved gametype from previouse entries.
like many others already mentioned: i rather have normal BTB and BTB Heavies than another MT infested gametype.
I’d rather they ditch warzone entirely and refine the btb experience. You could apply some of warzone to btb as well.
If they do keep warzone, they need to make some changes for it to Interest me.
*Maps need more Originality to me rather than reusing so many assets from each other.
*They need smaller maps or a better way to utilize the maps to the fullest extent as there’s a lot of dead zones to H5s warzone maps (dead ones meaning little to no traffic at all)
*Need to fix the snowballing issue where once a team gets a good lead it’s pretty much game over because if the req advantage.
*Should try using on map pickups and limit req item spawn ins
There’s more, but I don’t care to much about warzone, like I said, I’d rather they prioritize btb and refine that more than keeping warzone.

While I agree about Firefight being the main coop experience (I also support the ability to Forge Firefight maps), I would like a campaign like Halo 3, that can be played well and uniquely with 1, 2, or 3-4 players and work.
As far as the topic at hand: I’d prefer a larger-scale experience that was less gimicky. I like the ai’s and zone-capturing, but did not like the reqs and how there were ridiculous weapons all over the place. While I agree to an extent with others who want BTB to be prioritized instead, I feel like Warzone occupies a different space from BTB. The problem with Halo 5’s BTB isn’t that warzone exists and takes players, its that BTB had little to no effort put into its development. I would like to see both a well done BTB and and even larger-scale mode a la Warzone (or bigger) with AI in the mix but no gimicky weapons or vehicles. I think it would be better to have Warzone go back to what it originally started getting developed as, a larger scaled and more fleshed out Dominion. I feel like Warzone and Firefight would be the only acceptable places for Loadouts to make their return (instead of the full req package)
I love warzone and I think with tweaks and changes to avoid stuff like farming or snowballing, it would be amazing and could make a better-than-ever return
No. It was fun at first. But after time and due time, you are put in a match full of players of all skill and arsenal from hard earned or bought. If players come in now for that mode, they will not be able to enjoy what they are trying to do because there will be too many experienced players abusing the map or using every Req up their sleeve that the new player cant control.
Unless take out the pay to win system and play with players that match your rank in Arena, that’s fine.
I wonder what technical effort it would take to roll the REQ system forward into Infinite. This would probably be an unpopular move.
Maybe, but I would give it a spin… one huge spin.
To start, there would be more Warzone gamemodes.
Warzone: it wouldn’t totally be the same thing as the 100% P2W mode in Halo 5. No, it needs something else. To start, the loadout system would remain, but the way REQ weapons and vehicles work would be different. Think of Invasion Slayer. To get something, you’d need to capture a zone and hold it until the new loot comes. When the timer hits around 5, a Pelican would appear and position itself just above the zone and would attack the opposing team. When the timer hits exactly 0, that loot would become available and the Pelican would fly away. Finding REQs throughout the map is now possible. You’d be able to find weapons, vehicles, etc, but a Pelican would always deliver higher quality variants. Think of it like this: Normally, you’d only be able to find a regular Warthog or SAW, but a Pelican will deliver an ONI Warthog and Answer. As the round goes on, the Pelican will deliver better gear.
When a team controls all bases (Red for example), the opposing team’s base will initiate a “Lockdown” mode that will activate weak defensive turrets and maybe additional or higher ranked AI that arrive through transports. Red team can deactivate this, however. Turrets become inactive and reinforcements stop coming. When Blue team manages to reclaim a base, the home base will return to normal mode and the core protected.
The AIs would also be more active instead of sitting in a corner. They would usually patrol the map but could also INVADE the middle base. The controlling team will need to shake them off, but it also creates opportunities for the opposing team. Only Infantry can do this. Infantry bosses and vehicles would always remain to patrol the map and, when they successfully conquer the middle base, patrol that base.
This idea is open to suggestions.
Warzone Objective: Basically Warzone but focused on objectives like CTF or Assault (classic). It would be part of regular Warzone and not as a separate playlist.
Warzone Assault: Mostly the same Warzone Assault as in Halo 5, except that the REQ Pelican would be a thing. Also part of regular Warzone.
Warzone Space: Imagine Warzone, but with space ships and space stations and players control fighters. Actually imagine Battlefront II (Pandemic) but with a Halo spin… or Warzone spin in this case. Fighters would include: Sabres, Broadswords, Space Banshees and Seraphs. Bombers would include: Longsword, another type of Seraphs. Transports (for invasion) would include: Pelican, Phantom. The map would be massive, with 3 space stations and 2 team-colored Strident-class Frigates. The goal is essentially regular Warzone, except it’s done in a different manner. In order to capture a station, one would need to get out of their vehicle and capture the stronghold by foot (hence the Transports). Fighters are for combat, against other players (quite self-explanatory), and Bombers would be devastating against station defenses. Once all strongholds are controlled by a team, the opposing Strident would activate weak Point-defense turrets to counter invaders, but they’re easily crippled by bombers. Once the opposing Strident’s core is destroyed, a satisfying cinematic would show it’s destruction, as the thriving Strident slipspace jumps. This is the 2nd playlist.
Warzone Action: Basically the fun Warzone gamemode. Things like: Warzone Medieval could exist. This is the 3rd playlist.
Warzone Firefight: There would actually be multiple Warzone Firefight gamemodes, namely the gamemodes that appear in Reach’s Firefight. The regular Warzone Firefight experience would be named Warzone Firefight Objective. Otherwise, it’s essentially the same principle as old FF, but larger-scaled.
That’s really about it.

Pretty much these.
I want two FF playlists. I want an ODST style FF and a next level FF that is like horde mode/FF combined.
I also want BTB to be the go too playlist for anything that’s bigger then 4-4 gameplay. I want it to actually get the attention this time around it deserves. If they want to experiment with upping the player count in it to say 12 on 12 or higher, fine, go ahead. Just make sure it isn’t laggy as heck.
Warzone plays nothing like Halo…like at all. If they want to do stuff like this in Halo at this level and put this much time and resources into one mode, then it should just be its own separate spin-off game. One could argue that war zone alone is easily half or more all the multiplayer in Halo 5. I’m fine with the idea, but it wasn’t done right in my opinion. It should look, feel and play like a Halo game. Instead, warzone just feels like some kind of weird mix of stuff with the Halo name slapped onto it. It might as well of been it’s own separate game that was free to play. Now that I mention it, it should of been.
They should keep both. If they would tweak both BTB and WZ, it would make them more enjoyable. In WZ, make the spawns a little better so that spawn killing would not happen. The REQ’s in this game are fairly harmless. you can play through with out using them. For micro-transactions, they are not that bad.

ah yes BTB heavies. This should definitely be in place of it.
Should it return? No imo.
I enjoyed Warzone and Warzone FF in Halo 5, but the game modes revolves too heavily around the Req system.
If I could have a say in Infinite’s Development, I would suggest ditching WarZone and focusing those resources on the return of Invasion and a dedicated Firefight mode.
The return of Invasion would make a lot of people happy as would Fire Fight. I also would be open to a 12v12 “War” where each side has A.I support.
